Salaam.

I think out of most members on ShiaChat, I am probably one of the most aggressive ones when it comes to people making accusations against us, our marajae, our belief system, etc. At the same time, I have had good relations with those who seek to learn rather than preach or criticize. One such person was @Fahad Sani. A very knowledgeable sunni who spent quite a few months on ShiaChat. Him and I went back and forth on quite a few topics and he even listed me as his biggest "competitor" on ShiaChat. He started of politely for the most part but grew more and more frustrated with the knowledge and wisdom displayed by so many SC members. He went from cordial --> aggressive --> abusive to the point that he eventually got banned because his efforts to show us the 'truth' were constantly negated. That is one type of 'attack'.

Thanks for realizing and mentioning the type 1 Fitna.

I still remember the words of @Fahad Sani as i was also one of those whom he tried to hit by his abusive words before he was banned.

Then there is a type of attack from within. This is where a person claims to be a Shia but questions everything Shias do in the name of reform but the real attacks are on our beliefs, our marajae, our adherence to the Ahlul Bayt. This is an example of one such person who was monitoring ShiaChat for 5 years (admitted himself) and finally made an account and first post in Sept 2017:

I became suspicious of him when he said he learned a lot from a random Shia  internet blogger who just happened to live in the Middle East (UAE I think).

  • Recommendation against Shias for celebrating the birth of Imam Ali vs that of the Prophet
  • Comment on a post against Khums and vaguely accused our marajae of corruption.
  • Made another against Shias who may fall into the category of either loving Imam Ali (عليه السلام) too much or too little
  • A topic posed as a question on whether the Prophet is part of his Ahlul Bayt or outside of it
  • Another topic on “Ya Ali Madad” as salutation by some Shias.
  • A topic on Ghadeer questioning why Shias celebrate Imam Ali (عليه السلام) succession as opposed to the completion of the Prophet’s (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mission.
  • Topic questioning Shias whether Imams were killed or not because of their “unlimited knowledge”

While it seems like he is trying to reform Shias, when you look closely he is actually attacking our belief in Imamah and trying to drive a wedge between the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the Imams (عليه السلام). Conceptually, his topics may make sense but peel the layers and one can easily realize the game being played. This became most apparent on the last topic created where once again he was questioning Shias but really attacking the Imams, their martyrdom and the knowledge bestowed upon them by Allah.

I would urge all my ShiaChat brothers and sisters to be very aware of the games being played and to thwart the fitna as soon as it arises because most wildfires start with a small spark.

Thanks for mentioning the type 2 Fitna ie internal fitna

Your sincere advise should be respected and followed by ShiaChat members.

I think and foresee these fitna mongers may come under the restriction mentioned in ShiaChat rules soon.

I think this problmes answered & refuted to them but their main argument about martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as) & what we do during Muharram & Arbaeen

How I tackled the “Sir, I don’t think Shias are real Muslims” concept

Salaam,

The second type is the more dangerous one. It's poison wrapped in the sweetest candy whereas the first kind is obvious to recognize.

I prefer they don't get banned but exposed. Some of them want to get banned because they carry it as a badge of honor "Shias couldn't answer me so they banned me". Much better strategy to expose them for who they are.

Mashallah several members including you have a strong radar to thwart these attacks when you see them - with your knowledge and forbearance. You guys are the ICE. Otherwise there is my fiery FIRE - burns them.

Many thanks for your strategy as mentioned  and remarkable comments about ShiaChat members.

May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) enable us spreading the knowledge and truth based on hadith Thaqlyn of the Prophet Muhammad saaw. Ameen

I believe this is the user I had a debate with concerning Ghadeer a few months ago. I am a very busy person in the offline world and I came to the conclusion that either this user is not sincere in his efforts to understand the issue (i.e. his real goal is only to spread fitna) or I am not explaining it in a way that he can benefit from. Either way, I concluded that I don't have the time / energy to pursue this further. May Allah(s.w.a) reward you for your efforts with this user. Whether he is  / was sincere or not, the exercise benefited you by increasing your knowledge.

Yes sir.

I thought about naming the person but they just keep changing their names so I am more interested in arming our members about their strategies than their names.
