Salam Alaykum,

When a person becomes a Muslim by saying the Shahdats, he or she is faced with several questions such as  does God have a body or not ? ,who was the real Caliph Imam Ali (AS) or Abu Bakir? , Are the Imams infallible or not ? has Imam Mahdi (AS) been born or not ? and many other questions that fall under the intellectual category . And then there are questions about practical acts such as how is Wudu done ? How is Gusul done ? How is prayer done ? etc.

Different sects in Islam (ex. Shias and Sunnis ) have different answers for the above questions and the choices a Muslim makes define what sect he/she is following automatically whether he/she likes it or not. So for me the idea that a sectless Muslim can exist today is irrational.

Thank you.

Saying i am right and you are wrong is not necessarily caused by selfishness, its sometimes the result of being right in what you believe ,meaning that what you believe is realistic, for instance if I say 1+1=2 and you say it equals 3 then i am right and you are wrong and thats not because i am selfish.
