Salam aleykom brothers and sisters

I'm sorry for spamming this site. I just happen to be very curious about many subjects.

Why is it that some people dream about the imams or the prophets? Does it mean anything particular to have met them in a dream? Why do not all people meet them in their dreams?

If one does dream about the infallibles - should one keep it to oneself or is it ok to share it with others?

Can such dreams be interpreted in a reliable way? Where can one turn to get an interpretation?

Many thanks!

Consult your local sheikh. From personal experience, I can say that these dreams are indicators and omens, and therefore important. Keep them as much to yourself as possible.

Why should they be kept secret?

Because they are meant specifically for you. :)

In the Tawrat, book of the prophet Joel, it reads...

"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions." Joel 2:28

...also in the Injeel, Acts 2:16-17.

Salam aleykom

Thank you. Are you Jewish?

How do you interpret these verses?

Aleykum As-Salaam

No, I am Christian. It appears to me that the prophet Joel is referring to the end of time, prior to Jesus' return, when God will show favor to all peoples of all nations by pouring out His Spirit, and this will be evidenced in part by dreams and visions. I have heard and read of Jesus appearing to many Muslims in these days. I am awed.

Wa aleykom alsalam,

Thank you for your clarification. I enjoy listening to how Christians think regarding different issues. There are often many similarities to Islam.

We love Jesus and as you probably know he is a prophet to us as well :)

Do you know why a prophet would appear to a particular person in a dream?

Wa aleykom alsalam,

In John 4:1-41 of the Injeel, Jesus, a Jew, surprised a particular non-Jewish woman of Samaria by speaking to her. He chose to reveal His identity to her.

Interesting :)

Do you know why he revealed himself to her in particular? Is there a meaning to his choice or is it just random?

Let's say a person dreams about Noah a.s and another person dreams about Jesus a.s. Is there a message to the one who dreams about a particular prophet that is related to that particular prophet?

Nineteen years ago...

My twin sister had a dream or vision (she said she didn't know if she was asleep or awake) a week or two before she died. She saw herself lying on the floor. A man picked her up and held her in his arms. She believed it was Jesus. She said she didn't hear the word, but she felt the word, "Redeemed." She said it washed over her with so much power she thought in that moment Jesus was healing her from her cancer. But when the dream or vision ended, she realized she was still very sick, and she knew it wasn't that kind of healing. She never feared dying, especially after her dream. I am grateful she shared her dream with me...for I now have cancer, too.

I'm so sorry to hear that! May Allah SWT cure you!!!

Nothing to thank for! In the end that is where we are all headed. May Allah SWT strengthen you InshaAllah!

When something difficult happens, Muslims often recite the last part of this verse from the Quran:

Al-Baqarah 2:156 (i also copypasted 2:157)

الَّذينَ إِذا أَصابَتهُم مُصيبَةٌ قالوا إِنّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنّا إِلَيهِ راجِعونَ

Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return."

2:157

أُولٰئِكَ عَلَيهِم صَلَواتٌ مِن رَبِّهِم وَرَحمَةٌ ۖ وَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ المُهتَدونَ

Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.

Those are comforting passages. What are your dreams about?

One of the dreams I already know the interpretation of as I asked Allah SWT for religous guidance and asked him for a sign in a way that I would understand it's meaning. I almost immediately had a dream and understood perfectly what it meant.

The other dream was spontaneous and involved one of the infallibles. I'd like to share the details and get a reliable interpretation but I don't know if I'm allowed to share them here.

My mother has also dreamt about the infallibles I believe several times.

Have you ever had such a dream?

No. But I have heard testimonies and read reports of Muslims, from Imams to women, being visited in dreams or visions by Jesus, who appears surrounded by bright light, emanating incredible love and peace... sometimes with instructions to go to a specific place and sighting of a particular person they are to talk to--who will answer their questions. Sometimes the vision includes a message from Jesus like, "I am Jesus. Try me."

If one try to practice by praying at the first time, doing Salatullayl, avoiding lying and backbiting, etc. he/she can see Imams in his/her dreams. It depends on how much he/she avoiding sins. Good for these people. I think it's the most pleasurable thing in this world to see your owner in your dream and being calm next to him (this world is full of stress). It's better not sharing these dreams and keeping them as secrets.

Thank you for your reply.

A brother mentioned consulting a local sheikh to find out the interpretation of the dream. Are there other ways?

I suggest not doing that. If you found someone like Ayatollah Bahjat, you can ask for your dream interpretation

Why?

Meeting someone like Ayatollah Bahjat is unfortunately not very likely, so what should one do if one wants to know the interpretation of the dream?

I have a hunch of the meaning but I want to know for sure from someone who is qualified to make such interpretation.

TBH, I don't know the answer of your question, but I know we can share our dreams with people like Ayatollah Bahjat. It's better not sharing our dreams with normal people.

Ok, thank you.

I have also heard something similar but not really why.
