Why Modern Human Needs the Old Religion?

Salaam, brief reply here: because human nature has not changed, and neither has the effect things have on us. What Allah has cited as good or bad for us is timeless and will never change. People think just because these are the "2000's", certain religious rules shouldnt apply anymore, but this is looking at only the OUTSIDE/APPARENT side of Islam. Every prohibition or allowance that exists in Islam is there not to simply control us humans- that is just the outside manifestation of the rule. The INNER side, the side many people neglect and fail to take into consideration, is the kind of effect these actions will have on our SOULS if theyre committed. If eating meat of a pig is haram 1400 years ago because it has a harmfull effect on our souls (we are inducting pig attributes and qualities into our souls when we eat them) the same problem will occur in 2018-- no difference. Does drinking alcohol now in the 2000s have a lesser affect on people now than it did back then? Of course not, it may even be worse now. The basic structure and hope it provides is good. When a child has grown up with a strong religiously knowledgeable  upbringing, it allows them to go out into the world with a strong guidance and protective force, not end up weak and someone who falls for anything &who will try anything(and i mean anything) Even if tbey go astray, they have something to fall back on later. Ive seen this happen many times.

In this day and age, id have to say religion is of UTMOST importantance, and main stream news knows this and in all its forms has normalized the immoral, rationalized and justified the dangerous, the unjust, the indecent, and sensationalized and encouraged decadence and materialism. Shaytan is running amock in full force now. And these conditions are the reason why this question is even being asked--because people are now questioning the shariah and are attempting to rid us of it.

Do you know ?

Beacuse what is evil will always remain evil and what is good will always remain good. This is what every religion teaches. All the orthadox religions teaches us humantiy, no religion teaches human to do evil. When humam fails to follow basic pricipals of humanity they blame religion.

Everyone needs religion regardless. This whole notion that human beings in this day and age are needless of religion, because of some sort of scientific development or industrial revolution is beyond abusrd. I can't stand when people say 'science is the new thing' and how they think science is the reason they don't need faith. People have taken a path which doesn't even answer half their questions in life, a path which is not even fit to be called a 'way of life' or an 'ideology'. Therefore, I feel people are neglecting their inner voice - which is the innate nature of man. People have many questions, but they choose a superficial way of life which doesn't answer half their questions (maybe none).

Society is promoting a consumerist culture, where the end goal is for people to satisfy their desires, and what they want (not what they need). There is an old phone, then you have an iPhone 3, then iPhone4, then iPhone 10 etc. People are sucked into this hole of materialism and they non-stop want to satisfy their material needs.

Islam tells people to focus on their journey to attain nearness to God, and the rest will follow. Islam tells us that the things in this world are even less than a drop of water in the ocean, if you compare them to what is provided in heaven. This world isn't a place where we direct all our energy to satisfy our desires and material needs, because that will all perish. This is why people become ignorant beings, resembling animals. Nations fight over limited resources, families split over trivial issues such as money related matters. Islam is the solution for everything, from politics to society to human spirt. Unfortunately many people deny the reality.

@Natsu yes, i totally see what youre saying, but it depends. Sunnah isnt wajib, so if there are a few things we cant do anymore due to them being lost to time, there are still PLENTY of other things that we CAN still do in this day and age that are sunnah. Even during the prophet's time there were people who lived in areas where they didn't have camels, so even back then they wouldnt have been able to participate in that particular sunnah. Point in time is not necessarily a benefit or an obstacle.

In this day and age, using a camel would be mustahab only if certain circumstances were present. When there are cars, planes, airplanes, skateboards, busses ,etc available to transport a person from A to B,  IF a camel just happened to be available, and IF the camel was able to safely, sufficiently and in a timely manner be able to transport a person to their desired location, THEN  is when it would be advisable and mustahab to follow  that sunnah. Otherwise, following this particular sunnah becomes illogical, possibly unsafe, and an undue hardship as opposed to a reasonable thing to do.

If you dont mind me asking, what was your reasoning for bringing this up?

Oh no no i was just trying to say that somethings have changed from back then

Its so hard to avoid sinning  these days

@Natsu I totally agree with you. We live in a time like no other in history for many reasons. Our problems (spreading of immoral acts and indecencies) is wide out in the open now and at an unprecedented level. These acts and behaviors have been normalized to the point where people who wish to abstain from such indecencies  are looked at in a negative light. It says in some of our end times hadith that the truth will be made to look like falsehood, and falsehood to look like truth, and that corruption will be widespread in the earth. Our problems are no longer regional-they are global. I can only imagine what the so called future holds because no matter how much we succeed and progress in technology, science and medicine, its evidenced that we have not made the same leaps and bounds in our humanity, morality and care for others. The human race continues to fall further and further into the cesspool of filth, selfishness, greed etc, so i really wonder and question what the TRUE benefit truly is of living longer, healthier, happier, easier lives (all those things that people crave for) if all we have become are worse "humans", and closer to the animals that ever before. We have advanced in all these areas but unfortunately, good critical thinking skills and moral and ethical behavior towards each other and the planet in general has been left behind in favor of advancement technologically and acquisition of material gains:(
