Yesterday, my little sister was telling me her (15 month) daughter pulls her brother's hair, gets into everything, and even though she has been sick the last two days, when her brother turns on the TV and music comes on, she stands up, holds onto something and dances.

^^^^ If you sound like Batman, people going to call you sir.

Not Necessarily.

Today, I was painting outside again. There was a birthday party next door and the kids were all out playing.

What got me laughing was this girl about 7 or 8 kept declaring she was "Batman".

So which is it? Identity Crisis . . . or  just plain stew-pid?

Doesn't she know there was a batgirl -Yevonne Craig- who road around on a minibike?

There is a new movie coming out called Batwoman. Not sure how that will work out in Canada, Our PM would rather we refer to them as batpersons.

Probably just a child playing like a child, no different from pretending to be a lion or monster or any other character.

And probably a seven year old doesn't know about Batgirl. Why would she?

So l am listening to CBS this morning and there is this book in a book shop entitled:

How To Do Nothing

OPINE: lf there is anyone who does not need a book like this, it is me.

l guess if l did buy it, not reading it would be an accomplishment.

lt did look a little 'thick'.

I've been busy. The other day I was going to comment on justin's site and ask if he was red faced about his brown face but before I could do anything he was in black face.

Made me laugh.

Brothers, stay away. You have been warned.

Sisters, I can't stop laughing.

Kim Kardashian and  Kendall Jenner were presenting the award for reality TV series at Emmy. They said “Our family knows first-hand how truly compelling television comes from real people just being themselves, telling their stories, unfiltered and unscripted" . The crowd burst out laughing even before they finished their lines.

I am sorry if this looks bad. I normally don't laugh at people but in this instance I have been LOLing hard.

The Weatherman

Currently, East of the Mississippi is experiencing a heat wave.

So, on the verge of hysterical excitement, the Weatherman announces that this will be- tomorrow -the longest heat wave at this time of year "since the 1870s when records began". Today we topped a double record set in the 1940s and 1950s. by one degree. And we have had the driest month, of any month, in 9 years.

Tuesday is 'set' to top a 1919 record.

Maybe l should turn my air conditioner on.

Now several of our local schools have cancelled afternoon classes because it is "too hot". We use to sit and sweat and turn in wet papers. l looked up a record temp and it was 100+ and it was a school day.

EDIT: OBTW: l have been painting outside these last few days, in this heat.

We just had the wettest and coolest summer I remember. All crops and gardens were late starting and the weekend was the deadline. Corn didn't have tome to fill out, tomatoes all went to stalk and didn't get to ripen. We did break a record yesterday. biggest snowfall in 119 years.

I was wondering about that since this past weekend.

l found this which is an easy read:  https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-warming-climate-brings-new-crops-to-frigid-zones-1543168786

l also read about farming is now in northern Alberta.

When l was first old enough to know, spring wheat was the limited to along the border. ln the early 70s, a college prof remarked that every year he and his wife went to wherever it was in Canada, the land was cleared further north than the year before. He wondered if Canada was getting warmer. Then l found out that new varieties had been developed and commercially took-off after the backlash from the "Russian-wheat-deals" here in the U.S.

Corn needs hot, reasonably wet weather. lf 90-day corn didn't fill-out, was it do to a lack of rain? Because it should already have turned brown/dry before this snow.

As far as cold snaps go, l witnessed snow flurries in the 3rd week of July in northern Michigan, once.

Last year I dug a pond because we normally get a July drought and the well water has too much salt. This year the pond overflowed and all the work and technology I put into it, I think my wife used it 2-3 times. I am 6 acres cut out of a quarter section of farmland. This year I was surrounded by barley, other years it's been canola. This year summer forced winter to leave, so the crops didn't notice spring, everything was late starting this year. The crop to my west is now crushed by snow. Woke up this morning to -9C,  aka 16F.
We've been hoping this global warming would speed up.

A quarter section is 160 acres, basically a quarter mile square. I'm a dot.

The old people said it the same way when l was wee-sized. I just was not sure, especially since Canada had the lmperial system. Now, here, it is expressed only in acres.  Thanx.

We're all supposed to be metric now but the rural roads are still a mile apart. Al Canadians do now is convert everything. You have to know imperial and metric or you'll get lost.
