The first to enter Islam was NOT Abu Bakr, But it was Imam Ali ibn abi Talib [AS]

اخبرنا احمد بن جعفر القطيعي , ثنا عبد الله بن احمد بن حنبل--

قال; ان اول من  اسلم مع رسول الله علي بن ابي طالب.

Ahmad bin Ja'far Al-Qateani gave us news,
Narrated AbdAllah bin Ahmed bin Hanbal -- [A
longer Sanad] He said: Indeed, The first of
those who entered Islam with Rasul Allah [The
Messenger of Allah] was Ali bin Abi Talib.

Al-Mustadarak 4223

In conclusion, According to Sunni sources - Imam Ali was the first to enter Islam, and not Abu Bakr.

Sunni accept this hadith too, but they assert that in children Ali (asws) was the first one who entered into Islam, In Ladies it was Khadija (a.s) and in adult males it was Abu Bakr.

What would you say now?

I am an Ex-Sunni too...

I too had heard this Sunni Scholars saying Imam Ali as first in the list of Children...

And my Hikmat used to laugh on those Sunni Scholars even when i was a Sunni then.

Salam,

I would say, a man isn't defined by his age but more his intellect. Even though Imam Ali (a.s.) was young in age, he was much wiser than Abu Bakr. So you could just say he was the first male to be a Muslim and disregard introducing who came first in which age group category.

Nice reasoning skills brother.

A part from that, fact is that these three personalities are those who have entered into Islam in the very beginning. I think no one can deny this fact.
