If you read or study anthropology, both attire and makup are nothing but the attempt at sexualising one self. I always questioned as to why women need to put makeup?. Consider that a person wakes up and before going out or while on public transport they are painting their faces? Do they not even question why are they doing it?.

The point he is making is hypothetical - that if sexual signaling should be banned in the work place (following the metoo movement), then why does the double standard exist for women’s clothing and makeup. I agree that it’s not the best example, but he says “we’ll see” and says that he does not have a definite answer. There’s no doubt that clothing has an aspect of sexuality, but the problem in today’s feminist climate is that we are not allowed to even ask questions like this for the purpose of studying harassment.

The Islamic answer is clear: never be alone with a non mahram, and do not have any physical contact or unnecessary conversations.
