Stephen Hawking died today. We all know his stance on religions and God and how he rejected the idea of God. I see many of our muslim brothers saying tarahhum (that may Allah have mercy on him). Does this person really deserve the mercy of Allah? And what is the Quran's and ahadith's viewpoint on who deserves mercy upon death and who does not. (Also, please i ask you to not just state that this person invented and helped humanity with physics etc. therefore he deserves mercy. Yes it is true that he was bright in physics perhaps, but surely that does not matter when you reject Allah with clear determination.)

Allah forgives anything except Shirk. He doesn’t believe to god but didn’t pray anything beside Allah.

In my opinion Atheism is like other religions has many sects

Because he didnt believe in prayers to begin with, what a strange statement to make.

After all this bombastic conversations, exchange of ideas be it bad or good be it disheartening or calming, I still respect you all, on the reality that you are a human being like me, I would never hate or judge those who were completely against my views and in a way insulted me.

I'd not further comment on this topic as there's been extensive damage to it..

Enjoy the Topic :):)
