Salaam Alaikum brothers and sisters!

"But that day belongs to the Lord, the LORD Almighty-- a day of vengeance, for vengeance on his foes. The sword will devour till it is satisfied, till it has quenched its thirst with blood. For the Lord, the LORD Almighty, will offer sacrifice in the land of the north by the River Euphrates." Jeremiah 46:10

Thoughts on this verse? Do you guys think it is in reference to Imam Mahdi (as).

Salam. Some Shias believe that this Bible verse is in reference to the epic sacrifice of Imam Hussein AS in Karbala, by the Euphrates River.

Jer 46:10 is a prophecy about ancient events that already happened. This -and in other ways- is definitely NOT about the lmam.

To read about the lmam start at Isaiah 41:25. This will be familiar to you.

lf you have any questions about Deutero-lsaiah you can ask me. Some things -like expressions- are not common in lsIam.
