A non-Bahraini girl is considering to marry a Bahraini man living in Bahrain. She wants to know if oppression from the government makes life hard for Shia there? Is it a safe and comfortable place to live?

Some Bahraini men and women were born in Bahrain but their parents were born in another country (for example Iran) and these children, even though they are Bahraini by birth, might not have Bahrain citizenship papers. If he has a document showing he is a citizen of Bahrain then he should not be discriminated against.

Why doesn't she just ask the Bahrani guy living in Bahrain all these very important life changing questions?

Obviously he would know his situation and circumstances better considering the girl in question.

There is an ongoing Shia genocide in Bahrain since 1783. The foreign ruling Sunni dynasty oppresses native Bahrainis in so many ways; from forced disappearances to underfunding Shia neighbourhoods. Despite being majority Shia, only Sunni curriculum is taught at schools. Only Sunni prayers are shown on state TV. Shia calls to prayer are banned often. Shia mosques and Husaniyyas demolished. Shias are not allowed to do ziyarat to Iran or Iraq. Not even scholars are spared by that faithless, barbaric, tyrannical regime. If someone needs a cause worth fighting for, that’s Bahrain.
