lol no key updates. plus the landlord hasn't got back to me. looks like I'm stuck in this flat for another day. might have to get a friend to send me supplies...

Brother, please look at it in a positive way: Allah SWT did not want you to go out because you need to rest at home or some kind of accident would have happened and He saved you from it.

@ali_fatheroforphans

What?  You got out of your house? lol

Find a different circle of people.

No I live with family :)

I'm not referring to anyone in particular but I've just generally noticed some people who are so materialistic, and it just drains my energy.

Yeah I agree with you, having the right circle is so important.

All the old people in my neighborhood are having their beautiful big trees cut down. I was told by another neighbor that this one was planted by his wife when they first moved to the neighborhood. I don't understand why they want to cut down perfectly healthy trees that give them shade and make their properties beautiful, especially the ones planted by now-deceased loved ones.

I noticed a little grove starting in an untended window planter on the side of my barn. I think I'll pot them individually and plant the ones that grow in my yard to replace the ones in the neighborhood that have recently been removed. Then maybe in 50 years my family will have them cut down.

Some people are stoopid.

I am sure they had some stupid excuse like "the house doesn't get enough light." Yeah it doesn't get light because you have beautiful trees giving you SHADE, idiots. Shade: one of the greatest sources of comfort for man since Adam.

Cutting down trees with such weak reasoning should be illegal.

I just lost the roof of an outhouse built in 1910 to a branch broken from a tree I should have cut down years ago. Many reasons for cutting down a tree.

My one neighbor, it's probably because she does all her own lawn care and is less mobile than she used to be. So far, she's refused all offers of help from me, my husband, and my son. Come to find out she's originally from Tennessee - and to me that explains the fierce independence. But she had her trees cut down because she was becoming unable to clean up the needles and pine cones. She'd rather have no shade than accept help from outsiders.

The other guy hires a lawn service weekly. I have no idea why he cut down his perfectly healthy tree that was planted by his wife.

Hard to say. Nothing grows under a pine tree. The ground becomes too acidic. My Brother in law cut one out of his back yard because of that, and it took up so much of his back yard. Cost him $1000. and he didn't even get to keep the wood.

Nah, grass grows underneath our pines just fine. If you leave the needles through winter, they'll suffocate the grass. I used to rake them, until I discovered that running them over with a mower a few times worked just as well.

Good Morning and As-Salamallikum,

Glancing over the news as l Iistened to BBC, l decided l am not interested in being drowned, earthquaked, burned, or wish to reminisce on the bicentenary of Emily Bronchia who wrote Heaving Heights before thankfully passing away from TB at age 30, . . . l figured l'd start my day with SC.

Gawd, raking pine needles would be worse than raking leaves.

@Son of Placid l have a couple of varieties of mint under my pines, so to keep them healthy l lime the ground every couple of years.

Today is Emily Bronte's 200th birthday. There are celebrations/remembrances in England and the US.

So the Google home page has "Google".

But yesterday, like many other days, there was some supposedly 'important' Latin --which nobody ever heard of even in college.

Other days are activists, LBGTs, and so on.

So we can put Google into the political agitation and  filth mongering categories.

Oh it definitely is! It's miserable work.

@Son of Placid I was out driving around today and paid attention: we must have a different kind of grass here, or different kind of pines. Grass was normal thickness under almost all trees between my house and my son's speech therapist's office about 10 miles away. The exception was those pines that have low branches and are shaped like Christmas trees, which are less common in this area.

Bismehe Ta3ala

Assalam Alikum

I think the most amazing feeling in the world would be to experience Divine love.

To experience this, does one have to also know the feeling of fearing Allah?

Who knows these feelings except Rasoul Allah, Ahulbayt and the aoulee2a?

Ya Allah I ask for your Mercy (raheem), Love , and Forbearance (haleem).

Get out your tin foil hats, folks. I just found out that mind reading technology actually does exist. They use photons for one method, infrared for another, so I'm pretty sure any internet connected device with a camera can do it. I always assumed the people who thought the secret government was reading their mind was crazy. Maybe so, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

People would be surprised if they knew what kind of weird experiments that take place behind closed doors. All in order to gain control over people's minds and actions.
