Why would you like to know how they pray ?

Because Hanafi Sunni School (to which I belong) is very much similar to Zaidi Shia School. So I wonder they might pray like Hanafis and The Rulings of Zaidi Shia School can be similar to The Rulings of Hanafi Sunni School.

Aha OK. :)
And if that is the case, would you then investigate more about the differences or about Zaidi school in general?

100% YES.

I want to know how they Pray and I also what are the Similarities between Hanafi Fiqh and Zaidi Fiqh.

They are just two diffirent schools of fiqh IF we can consider Zaidiyyah as a mere fiqh school which is not the case.

Like one earlier mentioned imam Abu Hanifa supported the uprising of imam Zayd a.s. against the Umayyads. But in fiqh he just made his own ijtihad while the Hanafi madhab is questionable.

Imam Abu Hanifa did not left books of his own and the school was mainly spread by his students who contrary to himself were willing to accept the function as Chief Judge for the Abbasid caliph.

The diffirences in prayer is that Zaidi's do sadl. They keep the two feet closed during sujud just like Imami's, they consider the basmallah as a part of any surah meaning that they recite it out loud or just as inaudible as the entire surat has to be recited (depending on the prayer one is performing. No amin, the taawudh is allowed. No raising of hands during any part of the prayer even takbiratul ihram. No raising of the finger during tashahhud. Some scholars permitted only the last two.

These are the fundamental diffirences.

Wordings: Subhanallah instead of Subhanarabbi during rukuh and sujud with the addition of wa bi hamdi(hi).

The Tashahhud is same as Hanafi but As-Salamu alayka .. is left out. One is permitted to recite it after the Salawat Ibrahimiyyah.

Asalaamulayqum @Shah Khan and @TheGreenWanderer.

I want to first explain myself just who I am first and foremost before giving out websites that would make a starting ground of seeking information about the Zaidi sect within Shia Islam.

I am a Syed in real life and a Zaidi as well.

My family descends from the line of The Fourth Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (AS) and takes great pride in their genealogy. Doesn't matter to me though since I could be one of the sons of Prophet Musa (AS) and it wouldn't grant me instant salvation away from Jahnum/Hell.

My family and I do our very best to be stern and devout followers of Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (AS) even though we're not perfect.

My knowledge on my own Madhab has its limits due to limited information and my family usually don't talk too much about the differences/similarities of the Zaidi Madhab compared to other Madhabs within the Shia Branch of Islam since they believe all Madhabs within the Shia Branch are OK for me to learn from. Be they Hussaini, Jafari, Twelver etc etc.

So, please excuse me if I do come across as a mix between a Zaidi and a Jafari since I'm also learning the Jafari Madhab as well since one of my family members is related to the Madhab.

I find the Sixth Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS) very admirable and rational with his scientific/philosophical contributions for Humanity.

I believe in Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his 12 Imams (AS): Ali ibn Abi Talib, Hasan ibn Ali, Hussain ibn Ali, Zain-ul-Abideen, Muhammad Baqir, Jafar Sadiq, Musa Qazim, Ali Raza, Muhammad Taqee, Ali Naqee, Hasan Askari, and Muhammad Al-Mahdi.

I believe that Imam Muhammad Al-Mahdi (AS) is Hidden in Qiyamat and shall arrive soon alongside Prophet Jesus/Isa (AS) and Prophet Khizr (AS) to battle with The Dajaal.

Now that my backstory is out of the way let's get down to business, however I must warn you. Since we live in the Age of Misinformation it is necessary to fact check so please understand where I'm coming from before reading the websites. I have no desire or intention to misinform any of my brothers here. But since finding information about the Zaidi Madhab from a general sense is limited through the internet I did the best I could to find it so we could develop a starting point for seeking information.

Let's begin.

So, I found a discussion board on Salvation Ark where one of the topics is about Zaidi literature and Hadith Books. I encourage all of my brothers to read this before the website link since it provides what to expect when reading the website they post.

http://salvationark.com/salvationark1/index.php/forum/general-discussions/120-zaidi-literature-hadith-books

And here's the website in question that has information about the Zaidi/Zaydi/Zaydiyya sect's literatures and hadiths written

http://www.tash-ayyu.org/zaydiyya (Please remove the hyphen to check the website)

One of the members in Salvation Ark Abu Yusuf posts this about the website in question,

"Actually tash-ayyu.org is not (specifically) a Twelver site, at this point it should be considered more as being a pan-Shi`a site focused on translated ancient Shi`i materials into English. This includes Imami material whether Twelver, Waqifi, or Isma`ili, as well as early Zaydi material. I can speak with some confidence on this since I'm the translator/site admin and I'm not a Twelver myself.

The intent in translating this is as the above goal stated. For myself though, the further intention is to understand this important text better and figure out what to make of it. I've found that for myself the best way to truly delve into a material is to translate it. Unlike casual reading where you can skip or skim though on areas you might not fully understand, (good) translating forces you to consider each and every word. While I do not consider myself to be specifically Zaydi either, I do regard that there is value in considering this source material from these `Alid authorities. If anything my approach might be closest to Qadi Nu`man al-Maghribi, the Fatimi Isma`ili jurist and scholar, in that he would make use of Imami and Zaydi sources (he would even on occasion quote from al-Qasim ar-Rassi), though I don't consider myself Isma`ili as such either."

I hope I don't misinform any of my brothers here. I did the best I could. Be careful. :(

Mutazilla were actually responsible for the science of Islam and many so called Islamic philosophers and or scientists of the day were of the Mutazilla sect.

The Muslim philosophers of the past weren't mutazila and most of the Muslim scientists weren't mutazila. I don't think it is accurate to attribute scientific advancements to Islam or any religion for that matter. The main doctrines that defined the mutazila were centered around the position of 'aql in religion, the status of the fasiq, the createdness (khalq) of the Quran, promises and threats of God and freewill.

I considered becoming Zaydi in fiqh and `aqidah for some time, but I did my own research and decided to stick with the Hanafi madhhab in fiqh and I've since adopted many of the creedal stances of Ahl at-Tawhid wa-l `Adl; I've also found myself supporting the Zaydis in some of their historical/political positions. So I can't really be called a Sunni anymore, but I don't think any of you would consider me a Shi`i either - even though I myself feel like one and believe in the wilayah of Imam `Ali (`alayhi salam). More like just an Iraqi-school Hanafi.

If you belive in Wilayah of Imam Ali (alayhi Salam ) you will automatically consider as a shia ,but I think if you are not in favor of Ithna Ashari it’s better to follow Zaidy school because they are more near to Ithna Ashari & it Is not good to be in this suspended & flowing state in my opinion.

Perhaps I'll just be in a "manzil bayna manzilatayn" lol (kidding). Well, if you read about classical Ahnāf (like Imām al-Jassās), I'd consider myself like them - not in terms of knowledge of course, just outlook. I have no need of the relatively modern sectarian lines that divide us today.

But thanks very much for your input!
