Mum loves X factor

I just want an absolute answer. My mother loves watching X factor but I know if I tell her that it's haraam, she'll still watch it. She doesn't think it's haraam, "if you watch it sometimes". Is it really haraam? I've seen hadiths but they are not complete. I'm choosing to believe it's haraam. If it is, how can I stop my mum from watching her favorite show?

If it's mahram nonmahram mix and singing and inappropriate clothes, you should avoid watching it. Talk with your mother and tell her it's Haraam.

These post is good for all parents and future parents inshaallah. If you are a father or mother, PLEASE please don't do these kind of things. Don't do Haramm or watch Haraam in front of them. Be more cautious and try to have an ISLAMIC family.

before spouting religious emotional hysteria. Omaggadd haraam, why does she watch it, what is the motive, what can it be replaced with?.

parents are from a different generation , especially mothers, whom.were not allowed to fulfill their true potential, the tv box became their source of distraction and emotional consumption.

the irony that the responders know what it is quite comical.

immature teens without brains imitating religion should start to think first.

Well, X-factor, listening to songs that results in exciting or enticing notions within mind are haram due to bad habit of becoming succumbed by wrong thoughts which violates one's own morality and character.

However, if listening to such music which does not contain exciting notions that may lead to bad character or morality such as those of patriotic songs and songs that define love of great personalities such as Prophet and Ahlebait a.s are allowed to listen by Islamic scholars because they do not contain such bad things.

Anything which affects morality or atmosphere of society is considered as evil due to it's harms.

Listening to bad music is a sin like speaking about someone behind the back......because both of them inculcate in a person wrong habits. But there is not corporeal punishment for that and there is spiritual punishment for it and that is one gets a loose character and feeble mind.

I have given up Music but sometimes, for the sake of siblings, I keep quiet when they listen to music in car. I believe that no one should be forced and give people some roam.

However, if it has worst dressing and worst wordings than ask your mother gently to leave listening them, if she does not leave it then leave the surroundings where you encounter such music.

But I do listen to Sami Yusuf and Maher Zain, they sing religious songs.

The other members replied to you and they had good answers. My advice is to every time she starts watching X-factor to say "Mum, you know that show is haram, so I won't be watching it with you." Then stand up and go to another room or leave home for half an hour or an hour, whatever length of time the show is on TV. You can't force your mother to do something, but you can remove yourself from the situation.

I don't believe it's haram.

The only haram songs would be those played in clubs.

Those saying X-factor is haram is just your opinion.
