Relationship b/w Salafi and Shia groups in Britain

As-Salam-u-Alaikum everyone, 

I am currently a Masters by Research student studying the relationship between Sunni and Shia groups in Britain, my research is completely unbiased with no political or religious agenda whatsoever. I myself come from a mixed religious and cultural background and contradicting opinions on religion have been part of my upbringing, as such I very much appreciate a healthy debate. I have focussed on the relationship between Salafi and Shia groups in Britain and how that relationship has potentially evolved since the initial emergence of Salafism in Britain in the 1980s. I wanted to ask the people on this forum for their potential insight into these groups? Particularly what you think may be the biggest influencing factor: whether that might be essential theological differences, international or British politics or societal factors?

Interesting. Salafis oppose everyone due to their theology ( They oppose traditional Sunnis, Shias and Ibadis alike). The salafis have different definition of Shirk (associating partners with Allah) then no other Muslim shares, so they regard everyone else as polytheists. They also have different view about bidah and think their sect is the only one unaffected by innovation in the religion. There are good Salafis, but just dont talk about God with them. Some Salafis are more liberal minded but they share the same ideological fallacies of the sect. I think the biggest impact is internet, unqualified people giving religious ruling and Saudi export of books. Go to any salafi mosque and you'll see books from Saudi Arabia.

One of the biggest difference is that for the salafi everything is forbidden unless it is allowed. For shia, everything is permissible unless it is expressly forbidden.
