Are Nissin cup of noodles haram or halal ?

Salam. According to their own ingredients list on their labels, Nissin cup of noodles is haram. Some of them contain BEEF FAT, GELATIN, POWDERED BEEF, POWDERED CHICKEN, and RENDERED CHICKEN FAT. Even the ones with shrimp contain haram ingredients:

Nissin Cup Noodles With Shrimp says on the label it contains: DRIED PORK STOCK and DRIED CHICKEN STOCK.

Nissin Cup Noodles With Shrimp Picante Style says on the label it contains: RENDERED CHICKEN FAT and POWDERED CHICKEN.

Nissin Cup Noodles Salsa Picante Shrimp Flavor says on the label it contains: RENDERED CHICKEN FAT and POWDERED CHICKEN.

If you go here you can examine the packaging and there is nothing saying that it is halal:

Hate it when they pull this with something you would think at first glance is safe like that.

No. Nissin chow mein has animal ingredients, so it is haram. Nissin says look at the label and read all ingredients. Look for the green "vegetarian" leaf.

  • DO YOU HAVE ANY VEGETARIAN PRODUCTS?

Indeed! Our Cup Noodles Stir Fry Sweet Chili flavor, Top Ramen Soy Sauce and Chili flavors, and Top Ramen Bowl Soy Sauce flavor contain no ingredients of animal origin. And we hope to introduce even more varieties in the future. Just look for the green “VEGETARIAN” leaf!

to my culinary distain, my son is a noodle fanatic. He always reads ingredients and sometimes it’s very hard to find vegan or vegetarian noodles.

Salam. The "cup of noodles" is very rare to be halal, because the haram animal ingredients are mixed up inside the cup and cannot be removed. It is best to buy the block of noodles that has a "flavor packet" of spices and haram ingredients that you can throw away. When you make your noodles, add anything you want to make it taste good. I usually add fresh ground black pepper. I have been known to add a tiny bit of sriracha sauce. Just enough to be warm, not hot.

I have just looked on the amazon.com website (United States) and they do have halal / vegetarian options. Prices shown are in GBP, because it assumes I'll want the product shipped here.
