Ghazwa-e-Hind or the final battle of India is firmly believe by suni Muslims. According to them they have a lot of hadiths in particular predicting a final and last battle in India and as a result, a conquest of the whole Indian sub-continent by Muslim warriors. They name these Muslim warriors KHURASANIs. Some of the haidths are as follows.

1) Holy Prophet (pbuh) Told Hazrat Abu Huraira:

"From the Umat (Followers of Islam currently) there will be a rise of Battalions from Sindh (Indus) and Hind (Sub-continent). If I got opportunity to be part of such a movement and if I martyred then it is good, if I returned alive I will be like free Abu Huraira who is freed from Hell by Allah".

2) Holy Prophet (pbuh) Told Hazrat Suban:

"Two groups in my Umma will be freed by Allah from hell fire, one which will conquer India and the other which will be with Hazrat Esa (as)."

I heard a lot about GHAZAWA E HIND from Suni intellects and scholars but unfortunately never heard anything about GHAZAWA E HIND from shia scholars. Though currently I have suni sources, but this battle makes sense to me, especially when INDIA is joining hands with ISREAL.

I really want to know what is Shia’s believe regarding this battle. Do we have any sources regrading this last battle of India or not?

JazakAllah.

Ghazwa-e-Hind

Dear Wa alaikum as salam,

First of all, Ghazwa means and accepted by majority of historians a war in which Prophet (saww) himself had took part or supposed to be present personally whereas the wars where Prophet (saww) were no present personally were used to be called Sarriya.

Prophet (saww) departed this world long ago and he is not going to come back to lead Ghazwa in any sense so who is going to lead? That means its just imagination of few hadith collectors who used this hadith to help Muslim invading rulers to conquer the land of Hind and Sindh and nothing more.

Secondly as mentioned by other brothers and sisters, it is not there in any authentic hadith collections of Ahle Sunnah brothers.

Prophet (saww) came to this world not to rule the masses but to guide them to light whereas rulers majority of past and present used wars to expand their rule and not to guide. So, these so called Muslim rulers never helped in true sense for the propagation of Islam.

I am myself a Shia I am surprised by the defensive mode of Shias even if there is no such Hadith but what about the the final war at the time of Imam Mahdi of war is so bad

how will Imam conquer this world obviously with sword so I don’t know even if there is such a Hadith why do we as Shias need to be so apologetic about it and if there is is no such Hadith how can we believe that Imam Mahdi will fight and conquer the world land by the way in Sunni sources this Hadith is about the time of Imam Mahdi it is one of the many battles to be fought at that time
