How come the hoor al ayn, or houris, get to be born and live in eternal pleasure in Paradise?

How come we have to go through life and all, and then we finally get Paradise as a reward for our actions, but the houris are all just sitting there from the beginning, waiting to have infinite sexual pleasure with their upcoming husbands? They literally feel no pain at all, ever, and if anything they only feel pleasure.

Seriously, when I ask why didn't Allah just create us in Paradise and give us all the pleasures since the beginning, people respond by saying that our purpose for existence is so God can test us and so we can do actions that make us deserving of Paradise. But then what about the houris? The existence of those houris is a matter of fundamental importance and philosophical interest, because the fact that billions of curvaceous women live in Paradise their whole lives is a fact that has important implications for revolutionizing the way many people view the meaning of life.

This  is good question. And is difficult or impossible to answer it most of us.

And there are many unsolved mystical questions. That is beyond our level.

We have to  only  follow commands

Angels have freewill, have explained in past posts and others probably have also explained about this issue. And who said 'hoor al-ayn is only women for men and not [also] vice versa!?

How do you know this? There is a possibility they don't feel anything at all and their only purpose is to serve the humans coming to Jannah.

Please give some reference who says that houris live in paradise and waiting, probably not in any castle, going in the castle before the master/mistress and maybe they are outside waiting to be grouped and serve. Albeit, maybe houris are in purgatory [barzakh] and not necessarily in paradise[now].

If angels have freewill and humans freewill for sure is known, and needs no further discussion maybe we should consider houris having freewill as such even consider them paradise humans which Three-One-Three 'suggests why we are not from start there'. So we are not of them, but we can reproduce and genealogy exists but such thing does not exist for houris or it exists! If humans after judgement day go to paradise of all pleasures they get, they can continue rising children or child exist there or not. Having/rising/loving child can also be a pleasure.

Does the houris have spirit and certainly not bodies from earth like us, even if their spirit is like us, if they have it! Some reference would close my hands for speculation on wording out after sometime! Are the houris only women, where it is mentioned in the Holy Quran? Maybe they are in paradise because they are not born like us and their creation is different that makes them placed in 'paradise' or even purgatory.

Say so, write clear, thought you mean something else. I am not saying it, i have put two marks, exclamation mark and question mark for others to think over and around the issue more. Why so easily the sibling and many writes that the Hour al Ayn is women in paradise waiting for men to arrive with normal sentences!!! Take it easy! But if they ask for it will they not get it!?

Here i go first: My reference;

English simple: http://www.islamquest.net/en/archive/question/fa943

Medium: http://www.pasokhgoo.ir/node/65410

And http://www.pasokhgoo.ir/node/47583

.htm

The main issue of this topic is why there is some humans [women in case of most Muslims] that look like humans with legs, that live in paradise before us and we suffer in earth why we are not in their place? This is the main discussion and question to answer, but a misunderstanding is that the sibling brings forward the issue of pleasure in a form that is typically normal but it is like one sided coin that is not possible.

A few questions to think on: Why should men have many wives whilst they can only have one spouse because in paradise the spouses does not get old with each other or tired of having pleasure from each other in fact for each time the excitement and pleasure becomes more and each one becomes more beautiful as days pass, so why the issue of Hour al Ayn focus on men with this broadness, when there is no need. Another point to think is the issue for humans both women and men they have their pleasure there, nobody is missing anything, but because of their creation being different men's pleasure is maybe in quantity whilst this is not important for women and the quality side dominates and these both [quality/quantity] could be something secondary for both and the main thing is 'the pleasure' is there. Plus who said that the main pleasure for both is the same, it could be different let alone the issues to talk on the same pleasure for both.

Albeit i think discussion about Houris is not important, and has particularly no importance compared to studying about angels and believing in them that is brought forward in the Holy Quran, and is connected to revelation as such. Generally the issue of Houris fall under the category of the unseen things that we should have belief in. Maybe there is someone out there that believes in the unseen things but do not know about the issue of Houris or many other unseen things that is not even mentioned that makes to know them now impossible yet believes in the unseen. But the issue of angels are not as such and one have to be conscious; that particularly acknowledge the existence of angels as mentioned in the Holy Quran to believe in them and believe in the book and in the Prophets and so on.

Brother, I read the english source but I dont really know if they mean the same thing you mean or if I misunderstood what you mean.

Are you saying that there are male hooris for females who may use them for sexual intimacy, such as the case for men with female hooris?

Yes, based on the sources it is how i understood, even the english source is enough to get this issue, yes they can use each other for pleasure you mentioned or eating in a garden fruits with each other. Their creation is of a kind of light and not like us. Do you have anything in mind?

There are no male "houris". The word itself in Arabic is related to females, and nowhere in the Holy Qur'an or the hadiths has it been used to apply to males.

Males having more than one partner is not an abomination, females having more than one partner is an abomination and zina.

It is a misconception that hurun means the females of paradise who will be reserved for good men. The word ‘hur’ or ‘hurun’ is the plural of both ‘ahwaro’, which is the masculine form as well as ‘haurao’, which is feminine. It means both pure males and pure females.

There are male companions mentioned in Quran, I think the verses 52:24 & 56:17 speaks about young boys.

I will get back to the linguistic comment later. But the Holy Qur'an never spoke about "male companions", that is a lie and attributing a lie to Allah is a major sin. It is speaking about servants, servants who will serve men and women with food etc... Not male sexual prostitutes, that is disgusting and zina.

You can check every hadith and it will always refer to hoor al-ayn as females who are rewards to the believing men.

"Male houris" is a new belief that has risen lately due to the rise of feminism and other false ideologies.

Brother, don't go too far in your interpretation of the word "Companion".

"And around them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls" (52: 24)
"Round about them shall go youths never altering in age" (56:17)

Neither the word "Ghulman" nor "Wildaan" means servant, although they were mentioned as serving. Secondly, a servant can also be said as companion.

Regarding your views on sexual capabilities, I am not sure whether our Barzakhi and Jannati body possess this capacity or not.

"A servant can mean a companion" that is a specific statement that requires explicit proof from the Kitab or the Sunnah. Just because something is possible linguistically or theoretically that does not mean Allah will allow it to happen.

As for my views, they are not my views brother. We will be ressurrected with a physical body in Jannah, not some sort of soul/angel body, the only ones who deny this are the Christians or the deviant sects amongst the Muslims. The Verses and hadiths are clear there will be virgin women for men in Jannah for pleasure.

Shaykh Al-Mufid says:

The reward of the dwellers in Paradise is to enjoy the delights of eating, drinking, pleasant scenes and marriage, and every pleasure of the senses to which their natural inclination leads them with which they will achieve their desires. Hence, in Paradise there is no human being who enjoys pleasure without eating, drinking, or gratification of the senses. The claim of him who alleges that in Paradise there are some who find pleasure in exalting and glorifying Allah without enjoying food or drink is, in fact, foreign to the religion of Islam.

It is an imitation of the Christians who allege that those who obey God in their lifetime will be transformed into angels who neither drink, nor eat, nor are married. Allah, the Exalted, declares this assertion a lie in His Book, when He promises to those who do good eating, drinking, and marriage, and the Almighty says:

Its produce is eternal, and its shade. That is, the requital of the godfearing [13:35].

And He, the Almighty, says:

Therein are rivers of sweet water [47:15].

And He, the Exalted, says:

Houris, cloistered in pavilions [55:72].

And He, the Sublime, says:

And wide-eyed houris [56:22].

And He, the Exalted, says:

And We shall espouse them to wide-eyed houris [44:54].

And He, the Almighty, says:

And with the maidens of equal age restraining their glances [38:52].

And He, the Sublime, says:

Verily, the inmates of Paradise shall on that day be busy rejoicing, they and their spouses [36:55-56].

And He, the Exalted says: . . .

that they shall be given in perfect semblance; and there for them shall be spouses purified; therein they shall dwell forever [2:25].

I will get back to your second point, but at the moment, i would like to ask a question about Bibi Aasiya, the wife of Pharaoh.

Her prayer is mentioned in 66:11, One  wonders what the reward for Bibi Aasiya would be: would she be turned into a houri for some man's pleasure, or would she be rewarded with pure companions, just like the male dwellers of paradise?

Believing women don't turn into houris in Jannah, I don't know where you got that. It is often said Houris are an entire different creation - they are not humans.

I also don't know where you keep getting the word "companions" from my brother, either you are relying on a terrible translation or there is a misconception in your understanding Heaven. Sayyeda Asiya (AS) asked for a house in Jannah, we don't know about her other rewards. But one thing I can assure you is there is no male "virgins" for women in Heaven, while there are for men. The texts are explicit. Also, the believing women will be united with their believing husbands.

I think you first need to prove them the servants

Surah At-tur, Verse 24:

And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls.

(English - Shakir)

Surah Al-Waqia, Verse 17:

Round about them shall go youths never altering in age,

(English - Shakir)

I will question more about this & about your second point.

The Verses have not mentioned anything to do with companionship and it is speaking in a general tone to both men and women. All it mentions is that there are youth who will circulate them. Not one Verse or even hadith says they are "companions". This is your personal assertion, dear brother, which requires proof. As far as the texts have showed, we do not know a whole lot about them except that they are youth who will serve the people of Jannah.

As for my proof that they are servants is the two Verses after the ayah you have mentioned, which proved they will be serving the people of Jannah. Add to that, Sayyed Tabataba'i said their circulation is a kinayah of their serving of them.

Their gratification will come by their husbands, no doubt about that. No one said that females will stand in a corner with their hands on their chin, all we are saying is like dunya, men have the opportunity of polygamy with more than one woman, unlike females.

I think this will help you to understand my point:

companion1

kəmˈpanjən/

noun

1. a person or animal with whom one spends a lot of time or with whom one travels.

"his travelling companion"

synonyms:associate, partner, escort, consort,colleague, workmate, co-worker,compatriot, confederate, ally; More

2. each of a pair of things intended to complement or match each other.

"a companion volume"

synonyms:complement, counterpart, fellow, mate, twin, other half, match; More

verb

formal

1. accompany.

"he is companioned by a pageboy"

I am not talking about any translation. In general english, it was said that dwellers of the gardens will enjoy the company of boys too.

What would be the point to be brought to heaven with your wife/wives in a situation like that?

I think we need to be careful with such a subject like this, otherwise we might find ourselves dancing to the flute of modern feminism, yet another one of ibliss(la) tools.

Next thing you know, people will say that you can have female hooris for muslim women if they want for intimacy, and then one thing follows the other and they will argue that homosexuality is okay.

Yes, this is the problem. New beliefs to suite current day standards. And a new attempt at a liberal revisionist understanding of the Holy Qur'an.

As i already mentioned, i dont know whether our jannati bodies have the reproductive system inplace or not.

The reason why I am not sure about it is couple of verses of Quran about Hazrat Adam. When Allah sent him to Garden, his private parts were not exposed to him.

Surah Taha, Verse 118:

Surely it is (ordained) for you that you shall not be hungry therein nor bare of clothing;

(English - Shakir)

Surah Taha, Verse 119:

And that you shall not be thirsty therein nor shall you feel the heat of the sun.

(English - Shakir)

And also because there are many verses like the following:

قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِي أَعْمَى وَقَدْ كُنتُ بَصِيرًا

I said that concerning women who have husbands, as for women who don't have husbands - who knows? It is best not to speculate.

One thing I am making clear is all I am saying is there is no polygamy for women in Jannah, only for men.

As for those Verses, all they are saying is that you won't feel hunger etc... not that you won't eat. I don't need to be hungry to enjoy the pleasures of eating, otherwise you will be contradicting the other Verses that mention eating and drinking in Jannah.

Furthermore, the hadiths tell us there will be intercourse and virgins in Jannah, this is clear. Jannah is physical.

Ok, But what about this verses:

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ

كَذَلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ

All the muttaqeen mentioned in these two verses are males? Are you sure about it?
And all the hoor mentioned above are females? Are you sure about it?

And what is the meaning of hawariyyun in these verses:

قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ اللّهِ آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ

وَإِذْ أَوْحَيْتُ إِلَى الْحَوَارِيِّينَ أَنْ آمِنُواْ بِي وَبِرَسُولِي قَالُوَاْ آمَنَّا وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّنَا مُسْلِمُونَ

Let me make it clear to you brother, I am not questioning to complicate this matter, I am just questioning to make an understanding. So don't take me wrong in anyway.

As for those Verses, all they are saying is that you won't feel hunger etc... not that you won't eat. I don't need to be hungry to enjoy the pleasures of eating, otherwise you will be contradicting the other Verses that mention eating and drinking in Jannah.

But the point raised by me is not hunger or thirst, it was said that the private parts of Adam & Eve got exposed to each other after eating the fruit from prohibited tree:

 فَأَكَلَا مِنْهَا فَبَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْآتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ
"Then they both ate of it, so their evil inclinations became manifest to them, and they both began to cover themselves with leaves of garden" (20:121)

One thing I am making clear is all I am saying is there is no polygamy for women in Jannah, only for men

It is obvious brother, I am also not saying that. There will be no "fahishaat" in the jannah.

Polygamy is a personal choice of women here in this world. I am working with many female workers, we give company to each other, hold talks on social & technical as well as family matters. We give company to each other without indulging into sexual relationship. So companion does not necessarily means that we should have sexual relationship with companion. This can applies to "Zawj" also and we have the example of Aqd e mut'aa, where one can set conditions not to have sexual intercourse.

I don't know why you are desperately bringing sex every time to this discussions. I am not sure whether we can have sexual relationships in jannah or not. I dont know whether our jannati body contain the reproductive system like we have here on earth or not, or whether women would get pregnant or give birth to new ones in jannah or not. There are many questions related to this topic for which I don't know anything and I don't have answers for those questions.

Ok, But what about this verses:

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ

كَذَلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ

All the muttaqeen mentioned in these two verses are males? Are you sure about it?
And all the hoor mentioned above are females? Are you sure about it?

And what is the meaning of hawariyyun in these verses:

قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ اللّهِ آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ

وَإِذْ أَوْحَيْتُ إِلَى الْحَوَارِيِّينَ أَنْ آمِنُواْ بِي وَبِرَسُولِي قَالُوَاْ آمَنَّا وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّنَا مُسْلِمُونَ

Yes, those Verses are about men and t can be proven through qara'in. I just checked the sayings of the mufasireen, they all agree hoor al een are women.

As for the howariyoun, they were the companions/disciples of Isa (AS). Unrelated to this topic.

Let me rephrase that, women will not have more than one companion other than their husband in Jannah. It is an abonination for women to have multiple companions, whether there is intercourse or not.

Men will have intercourse in Heaven and the hadiths prove that. I can quote hadiths if you want me to. Just ask me brother.
