Doing Prophets family a favour?

Wouldn't the Ahl-al-Bayt ruling over the Ummah be the same as reinforcing this idea of a dynastic ruling group present during the time of pre-Islamic Arabia? I personally believe Ali should've been Caliph before he did, but having only the progeny of Ali lead the Muslims, regardless if he's in the lineage of the Prophet (pbuh) can be dangerous. One's familial relationship to the Prophet shouldn't automatically make them a just and able ruler. Of course they should be respected either way.

the line of prophethood from adam (as) to at least Isa (as) were all the same family too. rasool e paak (as) was from a different branch, but still a direct decendent of hazrat ibrahim (as)

banu hashim, specifically the 14 Masumeen (as) were the end of this golden chain. if you want to think of it as a dynasty, then it is a dynasty of leadership which began with adam, not the holy prophet (s)

This was a decree by Allah not Muhammad himself. Prophet Yaqub's successor was his son Yusuf. With Ibrahaim it was Ismail and Ishaq. With Prophet Adam it was Seth. These Prophets had their family succeed them declared by Allah. Same thing with Muhammads family.
