Eid is on sunday?

Salam. People will be out, looking for the crescent moon on Saturday night.  If you live in the US or Canada, Saturday is the 29th day of fasting, so Sunday might be Eid or it could be the 30th of Ramadan and Monday could be Eid.

I understand, since the arab countries started 1st ramzan and north america also started at the same time,so arab countries celebr\ating sunday so we have the same method?

:salam:

It is just Sayed Fadlallah ( r ) 's method of calculation which makes arabic western and arab countries celebrate on sunday : since arab and european countries share a part of the night with countries where the moon was seen tonight, then it is the same day for eid as those aforementioned countries.

Sayed Khamenei  (h) sticked to the more classical method : if you cannot see the moon in your country on that night, it is not eid.

My understanding.

Eid mubarak all!

The Fitrah ensures acceptance of the fast’
