Donations for Syrians

Recommended Posts

Salam,

Once again I am back with the same question that I had asked some months ago. Can someone please suggest me how to send donations for Syrians? If any Syrian reading this and has some contacts in SYRIA then please send me a private message. If not then kindly suggest me a Shia (only) organization based in Syria/Lebanon.

Many Thanks.

John

W.Salam. Thank you Hameedeh! Yes I have but unfortunately none was any helpful. Someone contacted me by sending private message and the organizations they told me were based in Turkey and run by someone I was not very sure. So that's why I didn't do much. I even contacted some journalists like Eva Bartlett and Vanessa Beeley who had been to Syria many times and have many contacts but I could follow up with them mostly because of their busy schedule. So then I thought to try once more here and if someone can give me a solid link.

@John Romerro John, I'm sorry that you haven't been helped. If you are determined to find a way to donate to the Syrian refugees, may Allah SWT help you.

Humanitarian Aid Services by I.M.A.M. (which is the official liaison office of the grand authority in the holy city of Najaf) has helped those in Iraq, Pakistan, Haiti or the US in the past. It might be that they also help the Syrians and others, but they haven't updated their website. They accept General Donations, Khums (including allocations to authorized organizations and causes), Feeding the Fasting, Fidyah, Kaffarah (for oath and fasting), Nather (nazr), Sadaqah, and Zakat al-Fitrah.

If you go to the I.M.A.M. website and contact them (Contact Us is at the top of their homepage), you can ask how you can donate to help Syrians. They might be happy to help you. InShaAllah.

@John Romerro

ShiaChat now has a banner at the top of the home page. In the UK they are providing Iftar food parcels for Syria, so you can give the money to buy the food. Click on the banner at the top before the Holy Month of Ramadan is over. The image looks like this:
