A'uzobilla himinash Shaitaanir rajeem.
Bismillahir Ra'hmaanir Ra'heem.
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barkatuhu.

I mean no offence.
A hadith says that after reciting Sura Kaafirun and going to sleep makes reciter immune (i.e, a barrier) from Shirk.
What does it mean by "immunity" and "barrier"?
Those who recite or have started to recite, do you notice any change?
(And please, no debates)

Thanks in advance.

I have heard a hadith which says that Shayateen are tied with chains in the month of Ramadhan. And I see more moral & social crimes in the month of Ramadhan. Don't know why!

Anyway, everything depends on the intention & inner-knowledge of the reciter. Most people just recite without even thinking on the verses, without even knowing what they're saying. Mental alertness is necessary all of the time, our clear enemy is always ready to misguide us.

By the way, what is SHIRK?

Salamun alaykum.

This is the content of a narration from Imam Sadiq:

عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ قَرَأَ إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَهُ بَرَاءَةً مِنَ الشِّرْكِ

Al-Kafi, vol. 2 p. 626

Usually the narrations which talk about the virtues of the recitation of certain Chapters are explained by the scholars as referring to both reciting and acting upon the Verses.

Now when the main message of this Chapter is to be away from disbelief and polytheism the effect of its recitation with contemplation is to be immune from Shirk.
