Good morning, everyone.

My cousin sent me the mug shot of that now-famous fellow who threatened and verbally assaulted an Arab Muslim family on a Texas beach. Definitely one of America's finest.

Enjoy.

Bismehe Ta3ala,

Dear LCG,

If he had done that to a family here in a beach in Beriut, he would have ended up in the sea.  No tolerance for that type of abuse here.

While the majority of people in America are decent people, the way things are turning out shows it is going in the wrong direction.

Here is another reason to study Russian:  http://tass.com/science/945897

I showed your post to my son. He said, "Yeah I already knew. Russia is ahead of everybody in technology."

In the 1970s, we discovered from a Russian pilot who flew his plane into Japan on the promise of asylum and a million dollars, that his plane was made of advanced steel whose formulations was far ahead of our metallurgical research.   Also, steel --like for railroads-- that didn't brittle like ours in Siberian cold.

But, they were way behind, then, in oil & gas drilling technology.

Their military tech in the 90s when I was in the army was much better than ours - more reliable.

Did you see the MiG-29 [maybe Su-29, either way it was a 29] when it first flew in the West at Farnborough ? (Back, whenever)

About every pilot there had tears in their eyes because the performance was major forward leap.

Or, have you seen the ground position holding pattern? l do not remember what it is called, but what is involved is the  pilot pulls his nose nearly straight up will in slow take-off and the plane holds its position a few feet off-the-ground. Then he took off at about 80degrees, climbing nearly straight up and then as he gained enough speed, he went straight up.

Something is happening right now that I've not experienced in I don't know how many years: silence.

I hear two clocks ticking, some birds chirping outside, a light hum of the ceiling fan. That's it. So refreshing! I'm just going to sit and enjoy for a moment before I get on with my daily tasks.

By Sunday, I will have been " meeting- ed" to death. I am so tired. Another marathon with the Alphabets today. :ko:

PS When  your site and others belonging to my friends get spammed  by memes on various threads by me, it is probably  because I am trapped in a windowless room in some soulless building somewhere down in town under artificial lights, which give me a splitting  headache, whilst I listen to a litany of things from The Suits and Badges about issues we have already gone over ad nauseum and upon which I have already said my peace repeatedly. So I am in the back of the room ,quietly distracting myself from the pain. It's a silent cry for help, really.

When I stay in Hong Kong I drive past this car park (white building on the left), to get to my meetings. The car park has just been sold for US$3bn, or US$6,400 per square foot (once it's redeveloped).

The city is the most expensive in the world and this sale makes it even more so.
