I tried finding some hadiths from the sunni books about proof of Imam Ali (AS) wilayah but i did not find even a mention about Ali ibn Abi Talib, are they edited out or what? Should i buy the books by text instead?

There are many Hadith in Sahih Bukhari which prove the Wilayah of Imam Ali a.s. To begin with, the Hadith which mentions about 12 Imams from Quraish. Secondly, Imam Ali a.s to be door to the city of Knowledge. However, I would recommend you to buy original copy of Sahih Bukhari from a nearest Shia book shops because it may happen that Sunni brothers may not keep those Hadith online which mentions the excellence of Ahle bait a.s and wrongdoings of some people

it is in sahih bukhari no doubt but, as to the sahih's i read online as pdf's, i did not find anything... but i did not read it whole though i just typed "ali ibn abi talib" etc in the search box and didnt find anything. Yes perhaps i would need to buy them as text..

Searching can be a problem because the spelling of names can be different.
