Sisters: Why Aren't You Married Yet?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I found an old thread similar in the Brothers forum and decided to create one for sisters.

Those who aren't married: is it due to financial troubles, not finding someone you "click" with?

Are you not interested in getting married? Why or why not?

Beauty isn't everything and it's insulting to be treated like a piece of meat.

I second that. Someone interested in getting married after knowing me for two days makes no sense. It's clear that he's just interested in appearance, which is something I'm strictly against. In 5 years I'm not going to look the way I look now, but I need someone who's going to love me more and more each day.

Also because everyone I've met has no education, lives in a shack, and makes $200 a month. And on top of that, they don't speak English, have no manners, cheat even when they're married, lie, and can't be bothered to spend 30 minutes of their day having a conversation with me.

It must be someone who works only part-time, for example a student who only works on the weekends.

No, those are the wages in Lebanon. Max would be $1,000 if you worked at a bank or university professor, which are "wow" jobs in Lebanon.

I'm not interested in marrying someone there anyways, I'd prefer someone in Canada.

Okay. Lebanon wages was a bad example. If you want a husband who lives in Canada, what wages are you looking for?

Average wage their is between $500-$700. Saying $200 is a little over exaggerated lol.

Uhhhhhh this is the sisters section :) Well in the south $300-$500 is the average for full time, and $500-$700 as you said in Beirut. But I didn't live in Beirut, so :)

Yeah I've never been to Beirut I only stay at the south too. Before it used to be $300-500 like you said, but now it's changed, people there make a little more money. Half the men in south Lebanon are in Hezbollah, and Hezbollah gives them atleast $600 to help them out with their expenses.

I didn't know this was the sisters section lol I'm on my phone and didn't pay attention.

From what I know (I left there a month ago and I was there for 2 years) is that those people make about $500 so nothing super special... some people mking $600 or $700 as well. Nothing motivational though.

My friends in uni were making about $300-$500 a month in their jobs (supermarket jobs) so perhaps the people you know who are of your age have different professions and therefore make more?

At the end of the day, whether it's $500 or $600, it's not gonna cut it to provide for a family.

Yeah I know it won't cut it, I never said making $700 is good. Especially when things are quite expensive in Lebanon.

No^

i will not consider it all because it would be unfair.

Normally I wouldn't comment if this was the sisters section but it seems like there is no more sisters section so I will comment.

How would it be unfair??? Honestly I think that might be the solution to many marriage problems today because it seems like for every good religious guy there is like 3-10 good religious girls today lol I will have to admit that many of the brothers today are not doing good with regards to religion. If you go to masjid programs and classes you will see that the woman are outperforming the men and the few good guys there are get married quickly and there is barely any good ones left so what can all those good religious woman who are left unmarried do when there isn't enough good men? I think the solution is to follow the sunnah of our imams alayhimusalam and the sunnahs of their wives.
