AOA everyone I hope everyone is doing well,

From the past year or so I have this feeling of uselessness, I know that everyone has a purpose in life etc but it seems like I cannot find mine. I try to read books, I wish I could get myself to spend more time reading, but because I have dyslexia I tend to loose focus very fast and continue reading without understanding the text.

I want to do something positive, I thought of starting a blog but I don't know about what. I am a really shy introvert, I dont have friends and rarely go out. I want to volunteer and do charitable work but the amount of interaction it requires makes me very uncomfortable...I just cannot find anything suitable for me, it seems like I have no talent.

anyone who is/was in the same boat as me :(

Salam. Think positive. I'm sure that you will find yourself. Look at this image on my blog. I hope it inspires you. :)

Yes i have tried all of these but unfortunately I am no Good in any of those :(

Prioritize the daily-yearly stuff you have to do.

Then, what things do you think about? Write a couple down you might forget and the rest you will remember. Then study on them. Find an organization --if there is one.

I was in same position as you and God guided me. You want a purpose?  Here is one:

1. Try to find major problems in your society and understand where your help is needed and acquire education and other necessary skills for it.

2. Always try to bring unity among the people. Try to make people love each other be they muslims or non-muslims and improve yourself.

Maybe revealing the story of hussain allayh salam to the people.....sharing information about the shia mathhab.....or you can take courses at a community college and see what you like.......there are always books to read and they don't have to be hard........you can always join a club.....volunteer.....go to the masjid and start from there.....try to socialize with people even if it means saying hi.....go for walks if your place has nice weather.......there should always be something for you to do.......

First of all, don't ever be hard on yourself and take it easy. Trust me, sitting at home and doing nothing does get quite frustrating and literally everyone feels like this, which is why people get a job or keep themselves busy etc

We all need a balance in life, and the reason why you feel useless is because of your lack of social interaction, not because you don't have any talents. Being shy is fine, but If it is starting to interfere with your lifestyle, then you really need to work on it. I would recommend you to try to force yourself to step out of your comfort zone, because that is the only way you will become more confident and be able to interact with people comfortably. Join a friendly club/society or a class which will definitely help you become more social and keep you busy. A good start is joining a 'public speaking club'(i'm pretty sure you can find a local one) which might seem scary at first but you will be so relieved at how confident it will make you.

When you achieve this balance, you will be able to concentrate on your other hobbies much better such as reading books etc.

:)
