What do you mean you don't know what to think of this, if this is proven to be true, then this man is an animal who must be strongly condemned.

 

Can any find find a link to the full video? The Daily Mirror have a 29sec video on their site, but it doesn't show anything. Can anyone translate what he is saying?

Al-Afasy - There is a difference between attack and torture. The objective in war is not to stoop as low as the enemy, considering the human mind may be effected to the point that it enjoys it. If God is the final judge and his punishment will reckon all, then a simple bullet to the head would suffice and let the creator do his part. This video has absolutely excited the pants off every sunni; because now they have taken the video and plastered it all over Twitter and the like, with the caption 'Shia militias mutilate dead sunni civilian'

Even though it's obviously the corpse of an ISIS terrorist.

In fact in EVERY video of a 'Shia miltia' with a prisoner or dead body, the caption of the video suggests its a poor innocent sunni civilian called Omar and not ISIS which is actually what it is. This is how they spread their false propaganda. Now they are going with a sunni genocide hashtag on twitter which is beyond laughable.

When you live in a war zone, anything can happen. Perhaps some alim will give Abu advice that mutilating a dead body is not necessary. Has Ayatullah Sistani HA made a comment about this incident?

It is not about bad image, nor about the political damage it may do. Let's not becomd pragmatic with morals and integrity because that leads to a very dangerous visceral thinking.

Slicing a dead body is wrong, condemnable. And even though it can be contextualized because of the experiences lived by fighters against IS, it is not by itself something one should be prideful about or not condemn. It is another example of the harm and damage of war in society's values. May God guide them.

Oh, how I wish war was that clean and simple. Too bad it isn't, and the Qur'an doesn't say that either.

Some scholars used the verse I posted above to say it's permissible to behead ISIS fighters even after they've died. 

I do agree with you though, I'd prefer he use a combination of one of these punishments rather than slicing the guy up. 

"Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment," (5:33)

Harshness in war is imperative in conquering the psychological aspect of it. 

" O you who have believed, fight those adjacent to you of the disbelievers and let them find in you harshness. And know that Allah is with the righteous." (9:123)

"O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination." (9:73)

I am not condoning unneeded mutilation techniques, I do believe even if Abu Azra'eel is wrong, he is still a believer and can repent easily for what he has done.

You're left with 3 options here:

1. Agree with what he did and parade it around.

2. Disagree with what he did and hope Allah forgives him.

3. Take Ali_Hussain's approach and call him an animal while not calling non-Shi'a deviants the same out of glorification for their creed.

This is an act of an individual but what ISIS does is with approval of their leaders.

I am eager to know about Abu Azrael's courageous, but unfortunately donot find too much about him, His past background doesn't seem so much impressive. Although he only looks good during his photos and video session, but I am not sure about his real fighting.

But I think we must not forget the will of Imam Ali a.s when He was wounded by the strike of Ibn e Muljim, he said:

For those that do not understand Arabic..

 

Abu Azrael says in the video that he is going to Baiji tomorrow. Then he goes on to respond to a person on YouTube that has written 'Abu Azrael burns the corpse of a sunnite civillian man in Baiji'. He says why have you written such and such, are the sunnis not my brothers? Why am I in Baiji in the first place; am I not there to defend my brothers that are there? [You say that] I would burn a sunni; these people were caucasians, this person was from China.. do you not have any shame? Is it not Haram [that you spread these lies] ? I would burn a Sunni; why? With me are Sunnis, a fellow fighter called Umar [A sunni Hashd fighter] is with me, how could I burn a sunni? Do you not fear God? I do not fear anyone except God, nor any 'Dawlah' [Caliphate], get this into your head.

 

The rest of the video is stressing the point that he considers sunnites to be his brothers, and that he is fighting alongside them against ISIS. The burned corpse was an ISIS corpse and not a [ordinary, civilian] sunni.

 

He points out that the burned ISIS corpses were terrorists that killed members of the Hashd, and that one of them was an ISIS sniper that killed a member of the Hashd.

 

Then he says at the end.. are the sunnites not our brothers? Are they not muslims? Pray that you don't meet me you coward..
