Healthy Way of Taking Bath

Salam Alaikum,

We have heard many times from the media and medical practitioner that it is good to bathe ourselves beginning with the bottom of the leg up to the head. They say this method is beneficial to prevent stroke. One question emerges in mind. What about the ritual bath taught by Islam. We learn that it should start from the head down to the bottom and not the other way around. It is impossible for Islam to prescribe any method which may be harm to our body isn't it. Any comment on this would be highly appreciated.

It is said that the best time to take our bath in the morning is before Fajr, around 4.30. It helps to reduce cholestrol. Afterwards stay awake till Fajr by Quranic recitation or performing Salatul Layl. Then go out to have fresh air to invigorate the body and soul. This is one of the healthy morning routines one should practise, InshaAllah

Salam. The Islamic ritual (ghusl) starts at the head, after all najasat is removed. The bath you mentioned (that medical practitioners recommend, starting from the feet) is for patients (lying in bed), not for healthy normal people who can get in and out of the tub or shower.
