AOA brothers and sisters,

I love roti, rice, lentils,  potatoes.   I can live without pasta and bread, chips and junk.

I am a mom of 2 kids, wife,  housewife and I work full time as well... I don't have time for gym... I am not giving excuses just sharing my current situation.

Can someone design or suggest plan according to my lifestyle?

Blessings & Thank you all in advance.

Stress causes weight gain. Lack of sleep is a major cause of stress. Make sure you are getting enough sleep.

Drink a tall glass of water before every meal or snack, so you will eat less. Snack on raw vegetables. You probably get plenty of exercise just being a mom.

Chew your food all the way and eat slowly....that way your brain knows when to get full. If you eat fast, your brain wont register the food you eat so you are still hungry and want more food. Try it and see the results Inshallah.

I lost 15 kgs just by running, afterwards i started loving my body and i started having a healthy diet accordingly. Now I'm an athlete who runs track racing. I was the laziest person you can ever meet and of course i didnt have time for workout now its in my list of priorities.

Then I figured out that food is a way to get closer and away of God, its a way to discipline yourself also. I hit this stages after passing many previous procedures of course.

You should run 3 times a week, dont run too fast because fat is burned on a low speed. Before you run load some carbs, and focus on protein when you're not training. Do that for a while and apply the advises that our brothers and sisters here said as i apply them myself also and they're very effective.

And remember nothing happens without a strong will. Of course you will suffer the first couple of months but the more you suffer the more the outcome will be magnificent and satisfying. No remarkable result is gained without hard work.

For weight loss, exercise doesn't do much. It's 90℅ diet, the simplest way to loose weight is to just keep track of your caloric intake. You can find BMR calculators online, find your BMR and subtract about 200 to 500, depending on how fast you want to lose weight, from that you can find how much calories you should consume daily.

Eat only two times as instructed in many places in Islam.

  • Breakfast
  • Supper

Don't leave Breakfast unless you are on fasting. Take good quality Breakfast and heavy , heavy in the sense rich in protien and carbohydrate and Vitamins.

Vitamins are key player in loosing weight without any side effects like Dizziness or Vominting. Let me remind you when body loose weight Dizziness is the first thing you will face.

Take a straight rod , or pipe enough long to do twist like this for not more then 5-10 minutes every day.

If you have low metabolism than calorie intake doesn't really matter as much. A lot of over weight people don't eat much but are still fat because of there low metabolism. In such cases doing excersises is your best option.

I agree, @Logic. People who are over-weighted have low metabolism due to their high BMI. However when someone exercises not only he can eat more but he will lose fat and when he loses fat his BMR increases.

Losing weight without workout is possible but it's slow.

I'm going to look into this. Ever since I had surgery and have to be on medication, I can't lose weight even though I eat much less than I ever have before. I am constantly moving and doing things but don't formally exercise.

Don't eat anything out of a tin. No matter how healthy it may seem. If you want to know why, look at the sugar content, it'll usually be far higher than you'd imagine.

Generally the more processed something is, the more likely it will be to have sugar added.

Be especially suspicious of traditionally healthy yuck tasting foods that have been made to look and taste good. Example, this has 20g of sugar per 100g.

@Bushra2016

Let me be clear here i am not taking any NOs from you. I want to give me your best here.....

Breakfast:

1. Add a table spoon of honey and half a lemon in warm glass of water and drink it.

2. After an hours of this lemon and honey drink, you can have a cup of green tea/ Black coffee/ Regular Tea (I would suggest organic green tea), with a hard boiled egg and 1 slice of multigrain/whole whet bread.

3. In lunch have a salad with homemade dressings ( My Recipe: Onions, Green peppers, Cucumbers, Chick Peas, Romaine Lettuce, Black olives, Tomatoes and Kidney Beans) and for dressing ( 1 table spoon of lemon, tea spoon on olive oil, minced garlic and some salt, black peppers and oregano)

4. Dinner: Take a chick breast piece grill it or cook in pan or you could bake it with 2 or 3 handful of veggies "Low GI Vegetables". Add any spices you like, "I like to saute my veggies".

5. I know we all crave some sugar so after dinner have a scoop of Greek yogurt lol (No Ice cream for you) .

  • Artichokes
  • Artichoke hearts
  • Asparagus
  • Bamboo shoots
  • Bean sprouts
  • Broccoli
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Cauliflower
  • Celery
  • Cucumber
  • Daikon
  • Eggplant
  • Leeks
  • Lentils
  • Beans (green, kidney, garbanzo)
  • Greens (collard, kale, mustard, turnip)
  • Mushrooms
  • Okra
  • Onions
  • Pea pods
  • Peppers
  • Radishes
  • Rutabaga
  • Squash
  • Sugar snap peas
  • Swiss chard
  • Tomato
  • Water chestnuts

Physical activity is only a tiny bit of the key to lose weight, It's 90% Diet. All I say Is eat enough. Start with 250calories less than your maintenance. Lower maximum 500 calories, you'll have to try and see which's the sweet spot. You can live without carbs but not without protein and fat. If you don't get enough protein and fat or enough calories in general your body is going to enter safe mode which will prevent you from losing weight. You need to trick your body.

Observe rapid weight loss is not healthy. 1 lbs weight loss every week is safe and healthy try aim for that,

How you're going to exercise is up to you.

Your passion for the traditional desi food is gonna get you nowhere. Moreover, only a nutritionist/dietition can help you in devising a diet plan for you after calculating your BMI & BMR.Any other diet plan devised by a non-medical professional is going to be of no use whatsoever as what may suit others might not suit you because there are plenty of different workouts & diet plans for different body types(mesomorphs, ectomorphs, endomorphs).Depending upon your body type a diet plan will be devised by your dietition & that's a perfect way to get it done by seeking a professional advice.I repeat, always seek professional advice in matters pertaining to health.Besides seeing a dietition, you need to make some life style & dietary changes which are as under:

1-Stay away from all sort of white poison(sugar, white flour, pasta, etc).

2-Avoid bad carbs(soda).

3-Include green leafy vegetables, protein(eggs, fish, beef, mutton, chicken),legumes, oats, dates, nuts in your diet.

4-Don't resort to unhealthy diets as they ruin your metabolism.

5-Consume 5-6 small meals per day.

6-Have a glass of water 30 mins before meals.

& last but not the least control your portion size & use smaller plates.

Regarding losing weight without exercising so that is something which is almost next to impossible. You can't lose weight without dieting & exercising alone is of no use. Both of them go hand in hand.Buy a treadmill if you can't go to gym.You can try steep uphill treadmill walking for toning up your glutes.jumping jacks, squats & skipping are the kind of exercises that can be easily done at home but don't jumpstart on anything.go easy & slow on the workout you do & keep on increasing the the intensity of workout with the passage of time.I'd personally recommend you getting a membership of any nearby gym in your area of residence.Believe me,it's really motivating p.s taking few hours out of your busy routine would be totally worth it & you won't be regretting this decision of yours like ever.

It even happens to under weight people as well, they eat all day but can't gain weight. It all depends on the individuals body.

I can't do low carb, my brain stops working. I literally become uncoordinated. I start dropping things and falling and total moody witch.  Allah have mercy on me and my family when I do low carb.

I lost 50 pounds by counting calories and eating pasta everyday.

Count calories, watch your portions, eat in smaller plates.

Salams,

Also focus on behavioral modification. Are there times of the day when you binge eat? Are there certain moods where you feel like eating junk food? Do you eat while you watch TV or do you eat a table? Avoid combining TV viewing with eating.

Salman
