Who are Truthful Ones?

004:069 Whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger—they are with those whom Allah has blessed, including the Prophets and the truthful, the martyrs and the righteous, and excellent companions are they!

The truthful ie sidiqeen may include both men and woman, So we need to explore further about their virtues in the light of quran and hadith.

Sidiqah: The woman is called sidiqah

The Messiah, son of Marium is but an apostle; apostles before him have indeed passed away; and his mother was a truthful woman; they both used to eat food. See how We make the communications clear to them, then behold, how they are turned away.  (5:75)

In this verse Mariuym SAA has been mentioned as Sidiqah and she was  the mother of Esa AS. So Sidiqah needs to be a mother of the prophet who is a representative chosen by Allah swr.

The prophet saw has mentioned the names of the chosen women of the world:

The Prophet (s) said, “Of all the women in the Universe, four would suffice: Mary, Asiya, Khadija, and Fatima.
Al-Sahihain, v. 3, the Chapter on the Virtues of Fatima, p. 171; Seir Alam Al-Nabala’, v. 2, p. 126;  Al-Bidaya wa Al-Nihaya, v. 2, p. 59; The Virtues of Al-Imam Ali of Ibn Al-Maghazali, p. 363.

The sayings of Prophet saww for the virtues of Fatima SAA mentions that she is Sadiqah.

Sadiqah - The Truthful

It was narrated that 'Aisha said: 'I have not seen any one more truthful than her - Fatimah - but only her father.' ( Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 43, chapter 3, p. 53; al-Mustadrak, vol. 3, p. 160.)

The value of this hadith is that it has been narrated by 'Aisha, It is worth noting that 'Aisha did not say in her description of Fatimah (as) that she was 'the truthful', but the most truthful. This expression, when given to a person, means that they are very sensitive to truthfulness, and that they would make absolutely sure that any word they utter contains no false suggestions, and certainly no lies.

'Aisha saw Fatimah as (as) the most truthful, and one who represented truth in speech and attitude, like her father the Messenger of Allah (sawa) who manifested truth so that his folk knew him - even before the start of his Message - as 'the truthful, the trustworthy'.

The following Excellent virtues of Fatima SAA are incomparable with any woman:

The Prophet (s) said, "Fatima is the Head of the women of Paradise."
Sahih Al-Bukhari, v. 3, Kitab Al-Fadha'il, Chapter on the Virtues of Fatima, p. 1374;

Ibne Maghaazali Shaafe’ee, in his book Manaaqib, pg 399, has documented a tradition from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.): By the Almighty, who made me a Prophet, that you O’ (Faatemah (a.s.)) are the leader of all women in both worlds i.e. in this world, and the hereafter.

• The Prophet (s) said, "All the children of a mother are attributed to their fatherly relation except the sons of Fatima."

The Prophet (s) said, “The first one to enter Paradise will be Fatima.”
Yanabi^ Al-Mawadda, v. 2, p. 322, ch. 56.

The Prophet (s) said, "The Mehdi is from my family, from the sons of Fatima."

Sideeq: The man is known as Sideeq

[12:46] Yusuf! O truthful one! explain to us seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured, and seven green ears and (seven) others dry, that I  may go back to the

people so that they may know.

19;56,  And mention Idris in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet,

[19:41] And mention Ibrahim in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet.

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [ Allah ] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [ Allah ] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers." (2:124)

The above verses  indicate that the Sideeq is the one who is a representative of Allah swt and chosen by thy. The above verse mentions the example of Ibrahim AS who is a prophet and an Imam chosen by Allah swt. He has been referred as Sideeq.

028:034 Aaron, my brother—he is more eloquent than me in speech. So send him with me as a helper to confirm me, for I fear that they will impugn me.’

The above verse also verifies that Harun AS is referred to confirm the Prophet Musa AS as Siddiq .

Hadith Manzila: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said to ‘Ali: “You are to me of the status of Harun to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me.”

The hadith has been reported both in sunni and shia sources.

Based on above verses and hadith it is indicated that Imam Ali is Sideeq.

The confirmation of the fact comes by the sayings of the prophet Muhammad saw by the following hadith:

In: "Sun'an Ibn Maj'ah (سنن ابن ماجة)", By: Muhammad bin Yaz'eed Al-Qazwini Abu abdullah Bin Maj'ah (محمد بن يزيد القزويني أبو عبد الله ابن ماجة), Investigated by: Muhammad Fo'a'ad Ab'd Al-Baqi (محمد فؤاد عبد الباقي): Association: Da'ar I'h'ya Al-Kutub Al-I,miyah (دار إحياء الكتب العربية), volume #1, Page# 44, Narration# 120:

Told us Muhammad bin Isma'ail Al-Razi, said: told us Ubaidullah bin Musa said: informed us  Al-Ala'a bin Sal'eh, from Al-Munhil, from Ab'ad bin Abdullah said: Said Ali (a.s): "I am the servant of Allah and the brother of his Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and I am the greatest truthful (righteous) (Sideeq Al-Akbar), and no one says it after me, except a liar. I preformed Salat before the people for seven years."

In Al-Zawa'id, this is an Authentic (Sahih) Isn'aad/chain, and its men are trustworthy (thiqa'at). Narrated it Al-Hakim in his Mustadrak from Al-Mun'haal, and said: Authentic on the guidelines of Bukhari And Muslim.

Thus confirming no one is Sideeq Akbar except Imam Ali AS.

Virtues of Sidiqeen:

The Prophet (s) said, “The first people to enter Paradise will be Ali and Fatima.
Nur Al-Absar, p. 52; related by similar wording in Kenz Al-Omal, v. 13, p. 95.

The Prophet (s) said, “The verse of purification was revealed concerning five people: myself, Ali, Hassan, Hussein, and Fatima.
Is^af Al-Raghibeen, p. 116; Sahih Muslim, Kitab Fadha’il Al-Sahaba.
The Prophet (s) said, "Oh, Ali, God has commanded me to marry you to Fatima."

Al-Sawaiq Al-Muhariqa,. ch. 4, p. 142; Dakha'ir Al-Uqubi, p. 30 & 31; Tadhkirat Al-Khawas, p. 276; Manaqib Al-Imam Ali from Al-Riyadh Al-Nudhra, p. 141; Nur Al-Absar, p. 53.

The Prophet (s) said, "Verily, God married Ali to Fatima."
Al-Sawaiq Al-Muhariqa, p. 173.

The Prophet (s) said, "Oh, Ali, Jibreel has informed me that God has married you to Fatima."
Manaqib Al-Imam Ali from Al-Riyadh Al-Nudhra, p. 141.

Proof of their Truthfulness from Quran:

When the confirmation of the prophet hood of the prophet Muhammad saw is needed or the truthiness of Islam is to be exhibited then only the truthful ones go along the prophet saww. The evidence comes from Quran in the following verses:

The following incident is related to the event of "Mubahala”(which means imprecation, or invoking the curse of Allah upon the liar), which took place in the 9th-10th year of Hijrah. In that year a delegation consisting of 14 Christian priests came from Najran to meet the Prophet (S).

When they met the Prophet they asked him what is his opinion about Jesus (as). The Messenger of Allah (S) said: "You may take rest today and you will receive the reply afterwards.”The next day, 3 verses of Qur’an (3:59-61) about Jesus were revealed. When Christians did not accept the words of Allah, The Prophet recited the last revealed verse:

But whoever disputes with you in this matter after what has come to you of knowledge, then say: Come let us call our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and our selves and your selves; then let us be earnest in prayer and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars. (Qur’an 3:61).

In this way, the Prophet (S) challenged the Christians. The next day the Christian priests came out on one side of the field. Also on the other side, the Prophet came out of his house carrying al-Husayn in his arm with al-Hasan walking along with him while he was holding his hand. Behind him was Fatimah al-Zahra (sa), and behind her was ‘Ali, peace be upon them all.

When the Christians saw the five pure souls, and how determined the Prophet is in his idea that he put the closest people to him at risk, the Christians were terrified and abstained from the proposed malediction (Mubahala) and submitted to a treaty with the Prophet (S).

al-Suyuti who was a great Sunni scholar, wrote:

In the above verse (3:61), according to what Jabir Ibn Abdillah al-Ansari (the great companion of the Prophet) said, the word "sons”refers to al-Hasan and al-Husayn, the word "women”refers to Fatimah, and the word "our selves”refer to the Prophet and ‘Ali. Thus ‘Ali is referred as "the self”of the Prophet (Nafs of the Prophet).

Reference: al-Durr al-Manthoor by al-Hafidh Jalaluddin al-Suyuti, v2, p38

It follows that just as it is unlawful to seek to be superior to the Prophet, similarly it is unlawful to supersede ‘Ali (who is the "self”of the Prophet according to the words of Allah). Any one who presumed to supersede ‘Ali, was, in essence, presumed to supersede the Prophet!

Muslim and al-Tirmidhi both confirm the above incident, and recorded the following tradition in their authentic collections of traditions:

Narrated Sa’d Ibn Abi Waqqas:

...And when the verse 3:61 was revealed, the Prophet called ‘Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn. Then the Prophet said: "O Lord! These are my family members (Ahli)."

References:

• Sahih Muslim, Chapter of virtues of companions, section of virtues of ‘Ali, 1980 Edition Pub. in Saudi Arabia, Arabic version, v4, p1871, the end of tradition #32.

• Sahih al-Tirmidhi, v5, p654

• al-Mustadrak, by al-Hakim, v3, p150, who said this tradition is authentic based on the criteria set by two Shaikhs, al-Bukhari and Muslim.

• Dhakha’ir al-Uqba, by Muhibbuddin al-Tabari, p25

Thus in the light of the above discussions it is clear that all interpreters have unanimously defined the Ahlul-Bait as Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain.

By taking along only these four and no one else besides the Prophet was showing the Muslims, that the best example for women is Fatima and the best example for boys are Hasan and Husain, according to the Qur'an's wordings, which also delicately used the word our selves for Ali, thereby pointing to his close proximity with the Prophet, and solving the question of succession once and for all.

[57:19]  And (as for) those who believe in Allah and His apostles, these it is that are the truthful and the faithful ones in the sight of their Lord: they shall have their reward and their light, and (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, these are the inmates of the hell.

The above provides the proof of the truthfulness of Sidiqun, who are true followers of the prophet and no one else can have this standard of excellence and virtues.

Mash Allah brother, excellent post with references. She is the same great and truthful Hazrat Fatima (a.s) whose sayings were rejected in Fadak. I would like to make a small humble contribution to your already superb post.

1 hour ago, skamran110 said:

It was narrated that 'Aisha said: 'I have not seen any one more truthful than her - Fatimah - but only her father.' ( Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 43, chapter 3, p. 53; al-Mustadrak, vol. 3, p. 160.)

Ibn Hajar writes in his al-Isaba:

عن عمرو بن دينار قالت عائشة ما رأيت قط أحدا أفضل من فاطمة غير أبيها أخرجه الطبراني في ترجمة إبراهيم بن هاشم من المعجم الأوسط وسنده صحيح على شرط الشيخين

Amro bin Denar said that Ayesha said that I did not see anyone greater than Fatima (a.s) except for her Father (a.s). Tabarani narrated it in explanation of Ibrahim bin Hashim’s life history in al Maujam al Ausat, and its Chain is Sahih on terms of Sheikhain. (Al Isaba Fi Tameez as Sahaba, 8/55) http://islamport.com/w/trj/Web/2934/4977.htm

Haithmi mentions in his Majma-uz-Zawaid, 9/325:

15193 – عن عائشة قالت : ما رأيت أفضل من فاطمة غير أبيها . قالت : وكان بينهما شيء ؟ فقالت : يا رسول الله سلها فإنها لا تكذب
رواه الطبراني في الأوسط وأبو يعلى إلا أنها قالت : ما رأيت أحدا قط أصدق من فاطمة . ورجالهما رجال الصحيح

Ayesha said that I had never seen anyone greater than Fatima except her Father (asws). She said: There was something between them. She said: O Prophet (asws)! Ask her anything and She will not lie.

Narrated by Tabarani in Ausat, and Abu Y’ala, except that He said: She said that I had not seen anyone more truthful than Fatima (asws). Its narrators are narrators of Sahih. http://islamport.com/w/krj/Web/2927/18422.htm

Imam Hakim in his mustadrak with Talkhees of Dhabi, 4/266 mentions the second version of this narration, and said about the chain “Hadith is Sahih on terms of Muslim, but He did not write it” Imam Dhabi agreed to it in his Talkhees, and said the same thing i.e. on terms of sahih muslim.

However, certain people will not accept this bitter truth as Abu Bakr's reputation is on the line and this will destroy their whole aqeeda. So no matter what proof and evidences we provide, it will fall on deaf ears except those whom Allah wants to guide.

This is how Muslims have turned history upside down. Two examples below.

1. Allah in the Quran calls Hazrat Fatima (a.s.) truthful (event mubahila) and yet muslims have the audacity to contradict the lord and say she wasn't on this occasion.

2. Allah in the Quran and Bukhari call hazrat Aisha a liar, and yet the muslims call her the truthful.

The Messenger of Allah (S) commissioned Abū-Bakr to convey some verses of it unto the people of Mecca. The Prophet (S) chose him, maybe, for the reason that he was an old man and people were not sensitive to him.

But, after Abū-Bakr had left Medina towards Mecca, Angel Gobriel appeared to the Holy Prophet (S) and brought a Message from Allah denoting that the recital of those verses of the Qur’ān should be conveyed either by the Holy Prophet himself or by the one who is of him. As soon as the divine command was received, the Prophet (S) called Hadrat Ali (as) and instructed him to do it. He said:

“I am his and he is mine.”

It was so that, in the midst of the way, Ali (as) took away the verses from him and went into Mecca where he recited them unto the pagans.

'Holy Prophet himself or by the one who is of him' shows Hazrat Ali (a.s.) is more closer to Prophet (sawa) than Abu bakar in everything, truthfulness included.

Salaam brother @skamran110.

They tried to minimize Imam Ali by giving away his titles and virtues to others.

You cited sideeq. War criminal Khalid bin Waleed became SayfAllah, etc.

Mashallah Imam Ali has enough titles and virtues that even after stealing some of his, he is still superior to all sahaba.

At last we have wahabi scholar who has the guts to speak the truth.

Famous salafi scholar, Hafiz Mubarakpuri writes in explanation of the part “Part of Me” that this narration tells us that when Holy Prophet (sawas) is hurt due to hurting of a person, then it is haram to hurt that person as well, no matter we hurt her more or less, in any case, it is haram and it is proven without doubt that what hurts Hazrat Fatima (a.s) hurts Holy Prophet (sawas). So this means that anyone who has hurt Hazrat Fatima (a.s.), has hurt the Holy Prophet (sawas). This sahih hadith is witness upon this.

His exact words are:

فيه تحريم أذى من يتأذى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بتأذيه لأن أذى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حرام حرام اتفاقًا قليله وكثيره وقد جزم بأنه يؤذيه ما يؤذي فاطمة فكل من وقع منه في حق فاطمة شيء فتأذت به فهو يُؤذي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بشهادة هذا الخبر الصحيح.

Thanks brothers who posted their comments.

I like to just add few more remarks  based on these::

1. Syeda  and Sadeeqa :Fatima Zahra SA is the mother of 11 sons who are Imams and the last one is Imam al Mahdi AS.  The son of Maryum AS will come and pray behind the imam Mahdi As so she has incomparable virtues.

2.  Imam Ali AS is Sideqe Akbar in the nation of Muhammad and whoever uses this title other than Imam Ali AS  is a liar. It is completely proven based on the verses of quran and authentic hadith of the prophet given in OP.

3.   The sons of Imam Ali and Fatima SA including 11 imams are all included in the progeny of the prophet SAWW.  The two sons imam Hasan AS and Imam Hussain AS are the chief of youth of paradise. .

4. They are all truthful ones. They are the progeny of the prophet Muhammad SAWW. the event of mubahila has provided the complete proof of their superiority, truthfulness and virtues above all in the nation of the prophet saww.

5.The nation has to follow quran and Ahl albayat being  truthful ones so their words and actions are also superior than others at all events like Mubahila, in the life of the prophet or at the incidents like Fadak after the prophet saww. Those who deny their words, virtues and superiority then in the words of quran they stand as liars.

But whoever disputes with you in this matter after what has come to you of knowledge, then say: Come let us call our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and our selves and your selves; then let us be earnest in prayer and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars. (Qur’an 3:61).

[57:19]  And (as for) those who believe in Allah and His apostles, these it is that are the truthful and the faithful ones in the sight of their Lord: they shall have their reward and their light, and (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, these are the inmates of the hell.

Sayedah Fatima Az-Zahra (p) was known by nine different names of which FATIMA was the most special.

Her names are:

FATIMA: Imam As-Sadiq (p) quoting his father said, “The Messenger of Allah said: O’ Fatima, do you know why you have been given the name Fatima?” Imam Ali (p) said: ‘Why was she named Fatima?’ The Prophet (p) replied: ‘Because she and her followers (Shiites) are protected from the fires of hell.’”

ZAHRA: She is called Az-Zahra because as Ibn Abbas narrates that the Prophet of Allah (p) said: “Surely my daughter Fatima is the Mistress of all women from the beginning to the end. She is a part of me, and the light of my eyes. She is the flower of my heart, and is my soul. Fatima is a human huri, who whenever she stands in prayers in the presence of her Lord (Exalted is His name), her light illuminates the skies for the angels, like stars shine to people on Earth.”

TAHIRA: She is At-Tahira because Allah revealed in the Quran the ‘Ayah of Purification’, “And Allah only wished to keep all abomination far from you, oh members of the family, and to keep you pure and spotless.”(33:33)

MARDHIYA: She achieved this name and rank through her good deeds that pleased Allah and made Him well satisfied with her. “Return to your Lord, well-pleased (with him), well-pleasing (Him). (89:28)

SIDDIQA: The Arabic word ‘sidq’ means truth. Fatima was As-Sidiqqa because she was a truth-teller. She never lied. Her deeds conformed to her words. She never lied because she was used to truthfulness. She believed in the commands of Allah and his Prophet (p), without doubting at all.

BATOOL: Fatima was purified in the verse of purification, (33:33). This meant that she was not only pure from sins but she was also cleansed from impurities like childbirth bleeding and menstruation. It is narrated that Asma bint Umais said: “When Fatima gave birth to Al-Hassan, she did not bleed. She also does not have menstruation bleeds. When I informed the Prophet of Allah of this, he said: ‘Don’t you know that my daughter is chaste. She does not discharge blood as a result of childbirth or menstruation.’”

ZAKIYA: Fatima was pure and free from all sins so for that reason she is called Az-Zakiya.

ATHRA’A: She was named Al-Athra’a because Fatima never lost her maidenhood. The Prophet said, “My daughter Fatima is a female huri.” Explaining this Imam As-Sadiq (p) said, “Because (huris) are created from pure goodness where no blight can alter them, nor does senility inflict them…menstruation does not pollute them.”

MUBARAKA: She was named Al-Mubaraka because abundant blessings came from her. The most significant was the blessing of eleven Imams whom she is the mother of.

Oh yes then can. They can say Hazrat fatima (as) was not truthful on one occasion when she asked for Fadak. Why? Because abu bakr was MORE truthful on this occasion and Abu Bakr cannot get things wrong. He was masoom on this and we can't question his dodgy response to Hazrat fatima (as).

Sayings need proof also, ,as the discussion has been conducted so far with evidences those are against them. The evidences in the favor of the progeny of the prophet saww are given in the verses of quran as mentioned in OP.

Such dodgy response is not justified by quran thus it is rejected.

Hazrat Aisha admitted (according to her) that Hazrat Fatima (as) and imam Ali (as) were the most beloved to the holy prophet (sawas)

Abu Bakr asked permission from holy prophet (s) when he heard Aisha saying: “By God! i know for sure that you love Ali and Fatima more than me and my father- twice or thrice”- so he asked permission, and when he entered, he told her “O daughter of fulan! Do not raise your voice over holy prophet

We can talk all day and night here regarding the virtues and the truthfulness of hazrat fatima (as) but these people (particularly the nasbis, who come here disguised as sunnis) will never accept this because otherwise their true master will be in deep trouble.

When it comes to Abu Bakr and Umar, we are always facing a up hill battle with these brainwashed people. How can they accept the superiority of the ahulbayt over their two masters when some of their narrations even make people like Umar greater Abu Bakr, Ali, Uthman and even greater than the holy prophet (sawas) !!!

Here is one evidence:

"The Messenger of Allah (s) went out for one of his expeditions, then when he came back, a black slave girl came to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! I took an oath that if Allah returned you safely, I would beat the Duff before you and sing.' So the Messenger of Allah (s) said to her: 'If you have taken an oath, then beat it, and if you have not then do not.' So she started to beat the Duff, and Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it. Then Ali entered while she was beating it, then Uthman entered while she was beating it. Then Umar entered, so she put the Duff under her, and sat upon it. So the Messenger of Allah (s) said: 'Indeed shaytan is afraid of you O 'Umar! I was sitting while she beat it, and then Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it, then 'Ali entered while she was beating it, then 'Uthman entered while she was beating it, then when you entered O 'Umar and she put away the Duff.'

Trimidhi, 3690. To those who even think about saying this hadith is weak, their sheikh Albani reports almost identical hadith and grades it sahih in his Silsilah al-Ahadith al-Sahihah, vol. 5, p. 330, Number 2261

How could Umar have saved the the holy prophet (S), from the clutches on Satan? Is this not evidence of Sunni belief that Umar was purer and better than the Prophet Muhammad (S)?

This hadith as well as others similar hadith clearly show us the following:

1. The devil allegedly tricked the Prophet Muhammad (god forbid), through the black girl slave, and made him listen to music. Abu Bakr, Ali and Uthman were similarly fooled by Satan.
2. The devil had complete control of the situation and was fully in charge until Umar intervened!
3. The devil feared Umar and always parted ways with him (according to bukhari, 6085). Therefore, as soon as Umar arrived, the devil fled, and the Holy Prophet (s), Abu Bakr, Ali and Uthman were rescued from the grip of Satan by the great hero, Umar!

But both of them have been  rejected by quran that no one is siddiq / truthful who is not a chosen one by Allah swt. The criterion mentioned in quran suits only to imams who are chosen by Allah swt.

Also a woman is sidiqah when she is the mother of the chosen ones by Allah swt. The criterion suits to Fatima saa alone except  Maryam AS.

The verse of Mubahila proves that no one is truthful one other than the progeny oft the prophet saww. instead the verse sends lanah on the liars who come against these pure personalities.
