Visiting Umrah/Haj, and Karbala

Asalamu'alaikum to all.

For those Shias who have performed Umrah/Haj, and visited Karbala during the month of Muharam, I would like to ask those who don't mind to share your experiences to the following:

1) How would you differentiate between the two journeys? How did you feel whilst you were in Makkah/Madinah, and Karbala?

2) How did each of the two visits benefit you spiritually?

3) Based on your understanding of Shiaism which, pilgrimage do you believe is superior, and would advocate to keep on doing in your life-time?

I didn't intend on this thread turning into a debate as to which, land is more sacred according to narrations. I was wanting Shias to their own experiences.

I'd like to request the staff to transfer all irrelevant posts with the exception of the first reply to a new/separate thread.
