Assalamu Alaykum. How do people cope with the loss of a family relative? How can they handle it, and what experiences did they have? Are they still affected after a long time? In Islam, is weeping over memories for the loss of someone allowed? Etc.

Salam. My condolences for the loss of your dear family member. I have lost family members so I know how you must be feeling. Allah gave us the ability to cry, to express the grief that we have, so weeping is a natural response. Over time, you will still weep for your loved one, but when you think of the good times, inshaAllah you will smile again. (hugs)

Imam Ali AS said, "Whenever the Messenger of Allah (ص) wanted to offer condolences to someone, he would say, 'May Allah reward and have mercy on you.'" My condolences for the loss of your dear family member.
