I'm planning to start a home child care business to earn a little money while staying home with my own children, and providing them with opportunity to play with other kids. I've done it before, a long time ago. I know the business and the work, but the advertising has changed in the past 15 years. 15 years ago, I put an ad in the paper and a few flyers at grocery stores. People don't seem to do that anymore, but craigslist isn't reputable. I know there are paid sites where I can advertise. What other ways do parents in the US find child care?

Also, I'd appreciate duas for success. :)

1. Google Adwords (Highly targeted, effective but can be expensive)

2. Facebook (Paid Ad - Cheaper than Google)

3. Facebook (Create your own community/business page and invite local friends, family friends, potential clients to like/subscribe your page)

4. Local Newspaper Ad

5. pamphlets

6. Submission to Online directories - often free (people in your post code will search for nearby child care centres)

7. Word of mouth

don't forget Craig's List...that's huge for things like this. Word of mouth is mega helpful on this as well.

My mom does child care from home. She loves it !!! On that note, its always good to be up to speed on your CPR, First Aid and that sort of emergency medical knowledge. Kids are notorious for getting into some type of medical disaster. :accident:

Also, not sure about where you are from but in IL if you go over a certain headcount as far as kids go then you have to get licensed.

Best of luck to you !!!

Don't discount Craigslist. If your post is nicely made with pictures, contact info, it will be seen as reputable. You'll see!

whatever social media that is public in your area. My family members use it all time and the response is pretty cool.

Facebook, twitter, instigram, snapchat, whatssup or whatever work in your area.

@Akbar673 I was state licensed before. I might go through the licensing process again, but mostly for the state subsidy for low income clients and for access to the USDA foods program. The state subsidy ended up being my best source of clients, and was a great way to be paid reliably without having to nag parents. I don't plan to keep more than 4 kids. I had at most 11 before, and that was too many.

I see a lot of people using Instagam to advertise their business - just make sure that if you use it to set the privacy settings on public.
