This is the first time I am reading about this. When was this discovered? Has anyone else heard about this before?

There are a lot of unanswered questions. Who owned this? Who discovered it? Why was this kept a secret all these years?

There is no question about Prophet Muhammad SA. When there is an artifact that is discovered, there should be a chain of custody. Who preserved it, for how long? Where are the papers of authenticity? Something. We need answers.

Like what? Can you mention an example?

I guess understood you but want to be sure about it because this topic is important and i need to take caution about it.

InshaAllah this is a true relic of our Prophet Muhammad SA. However, we have to be cautious as this might be a hoax. In 2011, someone in Kerala, India introduced a 'holy hair' and authorities thought it was in order to get people to donate money to build a masjid. The owner of the 'holy hair' promised to keep it inside the masjid so people could make ziyarat.

Kerala Sunni bodies challenge scholar's claim to 'holy relic'
