Assalam O Alaikum, Wa Rehmatullah, Wa Barakatuhu.

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim

Surely Allah does not forgive shirk (associating any partner with Him); and may forgive sins other than that if He so pleases. This is because one who commits shirk with Allah, does indeed invent a great sinful lie. Surah Nisa 48

Narrated Ali: The Prophet ( ) said, "Do not tell a lie against me for whoever tells a lie against me (intentionally) then he will surely enter the Hell-fire." Bukhari #106, Muslim #1

Shirk is the most sensitive issue in the sight of Allah.

Abu Huraira said:

The Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) said: There is for every apostle a prayer which is granted, but every prophet showed haste in his prayer. I have, however, reserved my prayer for the intercession of my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection, and it would be granted, if Allah so willed, in case of everyone amongst my Ummah provided he dies without associating anything with Allah.

http://www.sunnah.com/muslim/1/399

Narrated `Abdullah:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said one statement and I said another. The Prophet (ﷺ) said "Whoever dies while still invoking anything other than Allah as a rival to Allah, will enter Hell (Fire)." And I said, "Whoever dies without invoking anything as a rival to Allah, will enter Paradise."

http://www.sunnah.com/urn/41790

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "If a Muslim dies and forty people, who do not associate anything with Allah in worship, participate in the funeral prayer over him, Allah will accept their intercession for him."

Those who believe in transmigration or reincarnation are unbelievers.

46-2 Muhammad ibn Musa al-Mutawakkil - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashem quoted on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ali ibn Ma’bad, on the authority of Al-Husayn ibn Khalid As-Sayrafi,

“Abul Hassan Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) said, ‘Whoever believes in transmigration is an unbeliever.’ Then he (a.s.) added: ‘May God damn the boasters. I wish they were Jews! I wish they were Magi! I wish they were Christians! I wish they were of the Qadarites! I wish they were of the Marja’ites! I wish they were of the Harawies!’ The Imam (a.s.) then added, ‘Do not associate with or be friends with the boasters. Despise them as God has.’”

Those who believe Allah has turned over the affairs of His Religion to His Prophet (S) or to Ahlebait (A.S) are polytheist.

46-3 Muhammad ibn Ali Majilawayh - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashem quoted on the authority of his father, on the authority of Yasir - the servant:

I asked Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.), “What do you think about turning over the affairs?” He (a.s.) answered, “The Blessed the Sublime God has turned over the affairs of His Religion to His Prophet (S) and said, ‘…So take what the Apostle assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you..’ God, however, will not turn over the affairs of Creation and provision of the sustenance to the Prophet (S).” Then Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) added, “In fact, the Honorable the Exalted God said, ‘…Allah is the Creator of all things…’ God also said, ‘It is Allah Who has created you: further, He has provided for your sustenance; then He will cause you to die; and again He will give you life. Are there any of your (false) ‘partners’ who can do any single one of these things? Glory be to Him! and high is He above the partners they attribute (to him)!’”

46-4 Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Abi Bashshar - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Abul Faraj al-Mudhaffar ibn Ahmad ibn Al-Hassan al-Qazvini quoted on the authority of Al-Abbas ibn Muhammad ibn Qasim ibn Hamza ibn Musa ibn Ja’far (a.s.), on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Sahl al-Qummi, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Khalid, on the authority of Abi Hashem al-Ja’fari that he had asked Abal Hassan Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) about the boasters and those who believed in (God) turning over (all) the affairs.

The Imam (a.s.) replied, “The boasters are unbelievers and those who believe in (God) turning over (all) the affairs (to the Prophet (S)) are polytheists. Whoever associates with them; visits them; eats or drinks with them; becomes related to them; gives a daughter in marriage to or marries with one of their daughters; grants them immunity; considers them honest in keeping what they are entrusted with; or acknowledges what they say or assists them in what they say has exited from the circle of the Mastery of the Honorable the Exalted God, the Mastery of God’s Prophet (S) and the Mastery of us - the Members of the Holy Household.”

Those who say Ahlebait cannot make mistakes or cannot forget are liars.

46-5 Tamim ibn Abdullah ibn Tamim al-Qurashi - may God have Mercy upon him - narrated that his father quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Ali Al-Ansari, on the authority of Abi Salt al-Harawi that he told Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.), “O son of the Prophet of God! There are people in the vicinity of Kufa who think that the Prophet (S) never made any mistakes when saying his prayers.”

The Imam (a.s.) said, “May God damn them! They lie. The Only One who makes no mistakes is God - the One and Only.” Abi Salt al-Harawi added, “O son of the Prophet of God! There are people among them who think that Al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.) was not killed and God made someone else called Handhala ibn As’ad ash-Shami look like him (and be killed). And He raised Jesus (a.s.) - the son of (the Blessed Lady) Mary (a.s.) and the reason they present is by using the following verse, ‘…And never will God grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers.’” The Imam (a.s.) replied, “They are lying. God’s Wrath and Curse be upon them! They have disbelieved in God by denying what the Prophet (S) has said about Al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.) being killed, ‘I swear by God that Al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.) will be killed.’ There is no doubt that Al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.) has been killed. Even the ones better than Al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.) - that is (Ali) the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) and Al-Hassan ibn Ali (a.s.) were killed. There is no one of us who does not get killed. I swear by God that I will also be killed by being poisoned by a tricky unmanly person. I know this from the Trusted Covenant which we have inherited from God’s Prophet (S) that Gabriel delivered to him (a.s.) on behalf of the Lord of the Two Worlds. And the verse stated by the Honorable the Exalted God, ‘…And never will God grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers’ provides the proof. This means that God has not granted the unbelievers any proofs superior to those of the believers. There is no doubt that the Honorable the Exalted God has informed us that the unbelievers have unrightfully killed the Divine Prophets without having any proofs or reasons. Thus God has not left any ways for them to have any proofs against His Prophets (a.s.).”

Prayer of Imam Ali Reza (A.S)
Source: Bihar-ul-Anwar vol-25/343. http://dlia.ir/kotob/arabic/531/beharo_al_anvar_025/index.html

O Allah, verily, I disassociate myself before you from the strength and power. There is no strength and power except with you. O Allah, verily, i seek refuge in you and disaasociate myself before you from those who claim for us what is not true for us. O Allah, verily i disassociate myself before you from those who say regarding us what we have not said about ourselves.

O Allah, to you belong the creation and from you is the provision. You do we worship and from You we do seek help.

O Allah, You are our creator and the creator of our first fathers and our last fathers. O Allah, lordship is not suitable except with you. and Divinity befits non except for You.

O Allah, verily we are your slaves and sons of your slaves. We have no power over ourselves in respect of benefit or harm, nor death, life or resurrection.

O Allah, whoever claims that we are lords, then we are free from him, whoever claims that to us is the power of creation and providing sustenance, then we are free from him. We are free from him like Issa is free from the christians.

O Allah, we have never called them to what they claim, so do not take us into account fro what they say and forgive us for they claim.

My Lord do not leave upon the earth from them an inhabitant, indeed if you leave them they will mislead your servants and not beget except wicked one and disbeliever.

Jazak Allah Khairan.

This means that Imam himself don’t possess any knowledge of unseen directly from Allah or via Jibrael a.s, but what he knows is from Prophet s.a.w.w through his forefathers. It was a prophecy about how Imam Reza a.s will die. Likewise Prophet s.a.w.w has also informed many of his companions and ahlebait about future events, that how they or their children will die, that what will happen after 50 years, 100 years, 500 years, till day of Qiyamah etc.

Few examples:

(1) http://www.sunnah.com/bukhari/62/25

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
The Prophet (ﷺ) once climbed the mountain of Uhud with Abu Bakr, `Umar and `Uthman. The mountain shook with them. The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to the mountain), "Be firm, O Uhud! For on you there are no more than a Prophet, a Siddiq and two martyrs.

Comments: And history says both Hazrat Umar a.s and Hazrat Uthman a.s were martyred.

(2) http://www.sunnah.com/urn/636840

Narrated Abu Hurairah:
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Rejoice, 'Ammar, the transgressing party shall kill you."

Comments: And history says Ammar was killed/martyred by Party of Muawiya in Siffin.

(3) https://www.al-islam.org/uyun-akhbar-ar-ridha-volume-1-shaykh-saduq/chpater-25-what-narrated-al-ridha-about-zayd-ibn-ali

25-1A Ahmad ibn Harun al-Fami narrated in the Kufa Mosque in the year 354 A.H. (964 A.D.) that Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Ja’far al-Himyari quoted on the authority of his father, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abil Khattab, on the authority of Al-Husayn ibn Ulwan, on the authority of Umar ibn Thabit, on the authority of Dawood ibn Abdul Jabbar, on the authority of Jabir ibn Yazid al-Jo’fi, on the authority of Abi Ja’far Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (a.s.), on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ali (a.s.) that God’s Prophet (S) told Al-Husayn (a.s.), “O Husayn! There will be a man from your progeny called Zayd. He and his companions will cross the rows of the people on the Resurrection Day with brilliant faces. They will enter Paradise without any reckoning.”

25-1C Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Imran ad-Daqqaq - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ali ibn Al-Husayn al-Qadhi al-Alawi quoted on the authority of Al-Husayn ibn Ali an-Naseri - may God sanctify his soul, quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Rashid, on the authority of his uncle Abi Ma’mar Saeed ibn Khaytham, on the authority of his brother Ma’mar, “One day we were sitting in the mosque with As-Sadiq Ja’far ibn Muhammad (a.s.) when his uncle Zayd ibn Ali ibn Al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) came and grasped the door frame. As-Sadiq Ja’far ibn Muhammad (a.s.) told him, “O uncle! You will be hung on the gallows in the ‘Al-Konasa neighborhood.” Zayd’s mother said, “You say this to my son out of jealousy.” The Imam (a.s.) said, “I wish it was said out of jealousy!” He repeated this thrice. He then added, “My father (a.s.) narrated that my grandfather (a.s.) said, One of his progeny called Zayd will revolt. He will get killed in Kufa and his corpse will be hung in the ‘Al-Konasa neighborhood. When all the people are resurrected in the Hereafter, he will leave his grave while the Gates of the Heavens are opened for his soul. The residents of the heavens and the Earth are happy for him. His soul will be placed inside a green bird who can fly anywhere in Paradise that he wishes to go.”

Comments: Here Imam a.s is telling his Uncle Zaib bin Ali a.s about how he will be killed in Kufa. And what will happen to him after this. In much detail. And history says Imam Zaid a.s was killed during the time of Hisham bin Abdul Malik in Kufa in the same way as Prophet s.a.w.w has informed to his ahlebait.

FYI/R(Information/Review):

Shirk:

Ghulat/Ghuluw(Exagggeration)

The Knowledge of The Unseen & The Knowledge of The Book

"This article aims at clarifying two concepts namely "Ilm al-Ghayb”(the Knowledge of the Unseen) and "Ilm al-Kitab”(the knowledge of the Book) which both seem to be confusing in many people’s mind. The article provides references to Qur’an and both Shi’ite and Sunnite collections of traditions...."

........

"We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and they both said: "Praise be to Allah Who has favored us above many of His servants who believe!”And Solomon was David’s heir. He said: "O People! we have been taught the speech of Birds and we have been given (some knowledge) from all things. This is indeed manifest favor.”(Qur’an 27:15-16)

Having "the Knowledge of the Book", one can do many extraordinary things with the permission of Allah. For example Qur’an mentions that at the time of Prophet Solomon (Sulayman), a person in the name of Asaf, who was the Minister of Solomon and had only a very small part of "the Knowledge of the Book", was able to bring the throne of Queen Bilqis from another place of the world within the twinkling of an eye:

"The One with whom was just a part of the Knowledge of the Book said: ‘I shall bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!’ Then when (Solomon) saw (the throne) set in his presence, he said: ‘This is by the grace of my Lord! to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful!’“(Qur’an 27:40).

The source of this Divine Knowledge is God. He gave part of it to Prophet Adam (2:31), Jesus (5:110/113)... and some people who were not prophets like Taloot (2:247), and Asaf (see the above verse). According to Qur’an, "The knowledge of the Book”is for those who are immersed in Knowledge (3:7, 4:162), who are given authority by Allah (4:83), who are assigned by Allah as referee (16:43, 21:7), who are the stars of Guidance (6:97).

According to some traditions, the Knowledge of The Book is a part of the Greatest Name of Allah. The Greatest Name of Allah consists of seventy three units. These are not letters, but they are rather the knowledge of governing the universe. In one of the traditions in Usul al-Kafi, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) explained this issue as well as the mystery of the action of Asaf, the Minister of Solomon:

Abu Ja’far (as) said: "Verily, the Greatest Name of Allah consists of seventy three units (Harf). Asaf possessed only one unit of it, and when he spoke it (i.e., used it) the ground between him and the throne of Bilqis (the Queen of Sheba/Saba) folded/subsided so that he could take the throne with his hands, and then the ground opened out and returned to what it was originally in less than the twinkling of an eye.

We (Ahlul-Bayt) have seventy two units of the Greatest Name, and one unit remained with Allah which is kept exclusively in His knowledge of Unseen (Ilm al-Ghayb); and there is no efficacy or power except by Allah, the High, the Great.”(Usul al-Kafi, Kitab al-Hujjah, Tradition #613).."

What about the opposite - people who lower the status of the Ahlul-bayt? No commentary about them?

By the way, there is nothing wrong with believing the Imams received their knowledge from the Prophet who received it from Allah. After all, the Prophet said he is the City of Knowledge and Ali is its gate. He didn't say there are multiple cities of knowledge.

GOOD COPY AND PASTE. YOU FINALLY SHOWED YOUR COLORS.

Really?

I just shared a link. Didnt copied anything from it. I said for more examples visit this.

But what about other narrations in the OP. They all are from shia books. I am not saying anything from my brain. I am just quoting what Imam Ali Reza a.s has said. And its not about any shia sunni issue, its about ghuluw and shirk.

Your views on this?

Brother @Fahad Sani:

To clarify for you:

Allah = Allah

Prophet = Prophet

Imams = Imams

If you find us interchanging them, please let me know otherwise this is a pretty pointless topic.

There was a person on ShiaChat ( @AlKhidr ) with whom I had a long drawn out discussion about "AL". It looks like we may be going down the same road here.

[Quran 1:1] In the name of Allah, the Beneficent (Rehman), the Merciful (Raheem).

[Quran 9:128] Now hath come unto you a Messenger from amongst yourselves: it grieves him that ye should perish: ardently anxious is he over you: to the Believers is he most kind and merciful.

Allah is Al-Raheem but then Allah calls the Prophet raheem in 9.128. Is the Quran or dare I say Allah doing ghuluw?

Clarification: This thread is about [BEWARE OF GHULLAT/BOASTERS/EXAGGERATORS]

I am not accusing/targeting anyone here for this. I am just exposing beliefs of ghullat from shia books.

On 7/24/2016 at 8:47 AM, Fahad Sani said:

They lie. The Only One who makes no mistakes is God - the One and Only.”

Uyun Akhbar Reza, Vol-1, Chapter 19, Narration 2.

Views of Author Shaikh Sadooq r.a

19-2 In another tradition we read, “The Imam is certified by the Holy Spirit. There is a column of light between him and God through which he sees the deeds of the people. He is informed about what he needs by it. Sometimes that light is shined at him and he gets to know (what he must become aware of). And sometimes it is taken away and thus he will not know (what he needs not know). Sheikh Sadooq said, “The Imam is born. He also has children. He gets ill and he gets cured. He eats and drinks. He urinates and defecates. He gets married. He sleeps. He forgets and he makes mistakes.5 He gets happy and sad. He laughs and cries. He lives and then dies. He is buried and the people go to visit his shrine. He is resurrected and questioned. He is rewarded and honored. He intercedes. There are two important signs for him: his knowledge and the fulfillment of his prayers. He has heard the news that he gives about the events in the future from his grandfathers from the Prophet of God (a.s.). The Prophet of God (a.s.) has heard them from Gabriel. Gabriel has heard them from the Almighty God. All the eleven Imams after the Prophet (S) were martyred. Some were martyred by the sword - that is the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) and Al-Husayn (a.s.). The rest of them were poisoned by the disobedient rulers of their time. The martyrdom of the Imams has been a real issue - not the way the boasters and those who believe in turning over the authority believe6 - May God's Curse Be on Them. They say, ‘In fact, they were not killed.7 The people thought they were. However, Sheikh Sadooq says, ‘They are liars. May God's Wrath Be upon Them. There are no cases of the Prophets and the Imams in which the people just thought they were killed, but they were not; except for Jesus (a.s.) - the son of (the Blessed Lady) Mary (a.s.) since Jesus (a.s.) was taken up alive from the Earth. His spirit was taken away in between the heavens and the Earth. Then he was taken up to the heavens where his spirit was returned to him. The followings Words of the Almighty God refer to this, ‘Behold! God said, O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme.’8 The Almighty God also expressed what Jesus (a.s.) will say on the Resurrection Day as follows, ‘... And I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them. When Thou didst take me up, Thou was the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things.’9 And the people who have transgressed beyond bounds regarding the Immaculate Imams (a.s.) say, “If it is allowed for the people to think Jesus (a.s.) who was not killed was killed, why should a similar issue not hold true for the Imams?”

Their reply is, “Jesus (a.s.) was created without a father. Why is it not allowed that the Immaculate Imams (a.s.) be also created without having a father?” They will not dare express their opinion on this issue. May God Damn Them! When all the Prophets, Messengers and Imams after Adam have been created from a father and a mother - with Jesus being the only exception having only a mother - it is allowed for the people to think he was killed while he was not. This does not hold true for other Prophets and Imams. The Almighty God wished to establish Jesus (a.s.) as a sign and a symbol for us to know that He is able to do anything.

Types of boasters/exaggerators (this is also from same book)

“Boasters” refers to three groups of people: 1) Those who boast about Ali (a.s.) and consider him to be God. 2) Those who boast about the members of the household of the Prophet (S), and attribute to them characteristics which they do not attribute to themselves. 3) Those who believe that the recognition of the Imam will make us needless of performing all acts of worship and all the obligatory deeds. Thus by relying on our love for the members of the household of the Prophet (S) they abandon making ablutions, saying prayers, fasting, paying the alms-tax and performing the Hajj pilgrimage to the Kaaba. By “those who believe in turning over the authority” we mean one of eight groups of people. One meaning is that God has turned over the authority of Creation, planning and providing sustenance over to the Immaculate Imams (a.s.). This itself is another form of boasting.
