Stoning in Qur'an

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Salam,

Why is there nothing to be found about stoning in Qur'an and how can a hadith abrogate the Qur'an?

And how can a slave (in contrary to a free muslim) get half of the penalty (whips) when the punishment is stoning?

It seems people translate the Quran based on ahadith because it says do not kill an innocent soul. Still people love their schoolars and dare to kill.

The number of Rakaat are not mentioned in the Quran either.

The number of Rakaat mentioned in ahaadith do not abrogate the command of salaat.

It’s not just stoning. Since Holy Qur’an is a guide book, it’s method is saying generalities and general principles. Examples and details are often described by the Prophet (pbuh) and Ahlulbait (a.s). The Holy Messenger’s task was not only reading Qur’an, but also explaining it. As stated:

“And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought.” (16/44)

Thus Ahadeeth does NOT abrogate Holy Qur’an but interpret and explain it.
