Difficulty of Fasting is not Deniable But …

No one can deny the difficulty of fasting. One has to refrain eating, drinking and et cetera during a day and it becomes more difficult when Ramadan gets coincident with the summer.
But what we must pay attention to is that no significant action will be found in which you do not need to bear difficulty. There is a famous term that says “no pain no gain.” As an example we can look at soccer players. In a soccer match, players have to run for 90 minutes to gain their goal and sometimes they have to play under rain or snow or under the sun. In addition, soccer players have to exercise every day to get ready for the match.
This is not the only example and if you look around you can find many examples. So if for worldly cases we need to bear hardness, what will be if we confront with a matter which is related to eternal life? Fasting will be easy and tolerable if we pay attention to hereafter and our eternal fate.

Salamun alaykum.

Indeed.

Shaykh Hurr 'Amili in his Wasa'il al-Shia has dedicated a chapter on fasting in hot days, titled:

The first narration in this chapter reads:

and it also quotes a narration from the Prophet:

Also in a famous narration, Imam Sadiq (as) regards fasting in hot days as the best form of Jihad:

Of course fasting has difficulties especially when it coincident with the summer, but it is the philosophy of fasting that we have to remind the poor people. Also it purifies and polishes our soul and if it doesn’t have any difficulty, it is meaningless. As Imam Ja'far Sadiq (AS) said:
"If a person fasts during a hot day, and he suffers from thirst, Allah will assign 1,000 angels to wipe his face and convey to him glad tidings, and when he breaks his fast, Allah, the most Exalted, the most Glorified, addresses him with these words, "How sweet your smell and soul are! O My angels! Bear witness that I have forgiven him."
