Please be patient if nobody replies to your post immediately. The person who might reply to you is asleep on the other side of the world.

FYI: ShiaChat is a discussion board, not an outlet to post your mood. ShiaChat has a rule about one-word or one-line replies. It is not allowed and will not be approved. For Advanced members, if a Mod thinks your reply is insufficient it can be removed. If you see your post was removed, then create a new and longer post. Please do not complain that your post was not approved or was removed.

An example of these short, insufficient replies:

Agree wid u

Nice post.

Great

ok

:hahaha:

lol

...

.

yuck!

Please note: Rules do not allow bumping. The one-word reply of Bump or even "Please bump" is also not allowed. If nobody replied to your post, please create a new post that provides more information:

Posting one-word/one-line replies

If you have nothing important to post, please don't post anything. Leave it to others who may have something beneficial to say. Nothing is worse than a silly topic with silly one-word or one-line replies.

May I ask how to change the tag that says member?

That is a field on your profile that was available a long time ago, so long time members (Veteran) have that. You need to ask an Admin to change it for you, however new members can't ask because they can't PM until they have 25 posts in the forum. Send a PM to ask Hameedeh, but there are limitations. The phrase can't be too long and if it's in a foreign language you have to explain the translation. No inappropriate phrases are allowed. :D

^ The Rank used to say Member but with the new upgrade at ShiaChat the default now says Level 1 Member, Level 2 Member, etc. It shows others how active you have been:

Level 4 Rank.jpg

If you don't like your Rank, you can ask me to change it to a slogan, phrase or a nickname. Of course you can ask any Admin to make the change for you, but you have to be convincing and it has to be appropriate. See this thread:

Each small dot is called a pip. A Level 4 Member with 4 pips has at least 1000 posts. See the image here:

When you become an Advanced member (with 25 posts), your replies will not need approval. Thank you for continuing to participate and being patient.

Hello! Welcome to ShiaChat. Please read this topic again. One of the posts (up above) mentions that Mods will not approve a post of only one word. :D

  3. Stop and think before clicking links or opening attachments in emails, instant messages and online posts.
  4. Limit the personal information you share on social media.
  5. Update the security software and operating system on all your internet-connected devices.
  6. Download software and mobile apps from reputable sources.

As you know, a new member cannot send a private message (PM) until posting 25 replies in topics. If you are an Advanced member, used to send private messages, and you suddenly don't have access to your PM, then an Admin could have restricted you because you misused your PM. See this post here:

We have Development Team members (green banner) and Chat Mods (yellow banner) who can be contacted by profile comment or by PM if you need help, but only Mods (blue) can edit your post if there is a problem. Forum Admins (red) can change your username if you provide a reason that is not frivolous:
