It is probably safe to say that ShiaChat has members born on every day of the year. Although I haven't looked at every day of the Calendar, there might be no statistical significance to a star sign.

I don't believe in Horoscopes but the details the Zodiac signs give, are somewhat true. Varies from person to person though but it isn't rubbish, I can tell you that.

These Horoscope Stars are Paganists and Satanists and Masonic. These Horoscope Stars are use by Pagan Witchcraft to cast Black Magic. That's why Shamanism and Other European Pagan Religions are very Well Welcomed by Masons because Mason is Itself Pagan.

Better not to discuss about stars NEXT TIME. InshaAllah.

May Allah Guide You & me & everyone here Aameen.

The 'reason' you can say "it isn't rubbish" is because, like the nursery rhyme "Monday's Child, people use it to define themselves. The same as when an adult says "you are just like ____" and in child's head he says, "oh, that is who l am".

While on the topic of astrology, is it really haram?

If I remember correctly, Muhammad (saws) had very harsh words for fortunetellers and those who do divination. I remember reading a hadith of Muhammad (saws) saying that they will have their heads twisted backwards on Qiyamah. However, I cannot find the source.

I understand the haram in fortune tellers, but in terms of astrology, I mean comparing personality aspects like your moon sign or Venus sign to others. I don’t know if it’s haram, because I’ve heard different opinions if astrology is used for personality types and not for predicting the future.

Pagan is Pagan. There is no Shia or Sunni thing here. Both Shias and Sunnis hate Paganism and hate Pagan acts.

I’ve never heard of astrology being paganism.

Sermon 79: Do you think you can tell

When 1Amir al-mu’minin decided to set out for the battle with the Kharijites someone said, “If you set out at this moment then according to astrology I fear you will not be successful in your aim,” whereupon Amir al-mu’minin said:

Do you think you can tell the time when a man goes out and no evil befall him or can warn of the time at which if one goes out harm will accrue? Whoever testifies to this falsifies the Qur’an and becomes unmindful of Allah in achieving his desired objective and in warding off the undesirable. You cherish saying this so that he who acts on what you say should praise you rather than Allah because according to your misconception you have guided him about the hour in which he would secure benefit and avoid harm.

Then Amir al-mu’minin advanced towards the people and said:

O People! Beware of learning the science of stars except that with which guidance is sought on land or sea, because it leads to divining and an astrologer is a diviner, while the diviner is like the sorcerer, the sorcerer is like the unbeliever and the unbeliever would be in Hell. Get forward in the name of Allah.

What you think about stars is wrong.
Stars are not pagans. Stars are the Makhlooq of Allah (s.w.t), they are the state of the art creation and Allah has mentioned them in Quran with different names. Some times as Najm, sotimes as "Masabeeh", sometimes as "Koukab".

67:5

Even the constellations (Burooj) are not pagan, here is a verse of Quran:

85:1

:bismillah:

25:61

وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ {15:16}

[Shakir 15:16] And certainly We have made strongholds in the heaven and We have made it fair seeming to the beholders.
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 15:16]

In the countless stars in the universe there is a marvellous order, beauty and harmony, on a scale which man is appreciating more and more as his knowledge is increasing. The first distinct belt is the Zodiac, which marks the position of the sun with reference to the movement of various constellation of stars of the solar system. Its twelve divisions are called the signs of the Zodiac. Through them we can mark off the seasons in our solar year, and express in definite laws the most important facts in meteorology, agriculture, seasonal winds, and tides. All these are vitally important and affect our physical life on the earth. The most important lesson we draw from them is that the author of the wonderful order and beauty is One, and He alone is entitled to our worship.

Aqa Mahdi Puya says:

The Zodiac belt is the lowest heaven. The heavens above it are more spiritual than physical. Celestial factors effect the terrestrial events. Some of the determinative occurrences of the celestial realm manifest themselves before they produce an effect upon the terrestrial world. Those who delve in occult sciences rely upon these manifestations to foretell the future. Such attempts are not reliable because the radiating celestial bodies (shihabun mubin or shahabthaqib) prevent them from reading the actual consequences. The shooting star or flaming fire, most probably, is the continuous radiation from the celestial bodies which pierces into the terrestrial hemisphere. It may mean that the conjunctions of radiations from different celestial sources neutralise the effect of each other and it becomes immeasurable and incomprehensible to those who try to foretell the future.
