hello.

I wonder if someone knows if the Quran mention anything about Esau, older Jacob's brother? He's mentioned in the bible, but I'd like to know if there's any shia islamic version of him. In some websites is mentioned that Isa (Jesus) is Esau, I mean that Esau and Isa are almost the same name, is that true?

I've also heard that irani people say that they're not arabs, are arabs direct descendants of Ismael? Does the quran say anything about it? or the arabs have another book that registered the descendents of Ismael that at some point, it end up related the arabs as sons of Ismael, as the bible does with the jews.

I'd appreciate so much If someone can answer it

Hello,

Which Jacob are you talking about? The father of Joseph (Yusuf)?

Iranians are not arabs.

Arabs are descendants of Ishmael.

Bismillah.

Salaam.

There is no record of Esau in the Qur'an. But the name of Jacob has been mentioned 16 times in the Qur'an by the name "Yaʻqūb" and once by the name "Israeil".

Regarding what you've mentioned about the relation between Ismaeil and Arabs I have to say that our Prophet is descendant of Ismaeil but there is no reason to prove that Ismaeil was the only ancestor of all Arabs because the other ancestors of Arabs of Arabian Peninsula were there before Ismaeil.

With Duas.

Narsis.

WaSalam

I searched in this case and I found out that Esau(as) was the first son of Issac(as) and he was older than Jacob(as) and he was Ismael's(as) son in law, it is said that The messenger Ayyub(as) is from Esau's(as) bloodline.

The other things about Esau(as) in Islamic resources are taken from Jewish resources for sure which are not acceptable based on both logic and Shia beliefs.
