First of all what good did abu sufyan do in his life? other than waging war against rasooallah at any chance he got , and do you remember abu sufyans famous words to imam ali (as) at khandaq after abu sufyans top warrior was defeated , from that day on Abu sufyan proclaimed his grudge towards Ali (as) and said that he will get his revenge on him ,  and do you think somebody like abu sufyan has the mercy in his heart to forgive and forget? If you guys believe abu sufyan was a true muslim then I feel sorry for you , Abu sufyan was the biggest enemy of rasooallah (saws) , Moaviya bin abu sufyan was the staunch enemy of imam ali(as) and imam Hassan (as) , and yazeed ibn movaiya bin abu sufyan was the enemy of Imam Hussein (as) , and hind the cursed lady who ate the liver of hazrat Hamza(as) was the wife of abu sufyan , can you see how much of a deep rooted hatred and an eternal grudge Abu sufyan and his team has against Muhammad and ahli Muhammad? may Allah swt curse abu sufyan and his evil supporters and may Allah swt guide those muslims who have not found out the truth behind this devil ,  abu sufyan was the dajjal al akhbar of his time may Allah curse him

Pharaoh also in the very end proclaimed his belief in the lord of Moses. Now go and call him Pharoah (ra).

I don't understand you guys. How is it that you guys love the prophet (p) and his biggest enemy Abu Sufyan (la)? How is it that you guys love Imam Hussain (as) and his biggest enemy Yazid (la)? How is it that you guys love a Sahaba and his enemy (another Sahaba that killed him) as well?

Stand your ground bro.

It's comforting to see everything as a nice, big, beautiful party. Everyone loved each other. Nobody fought each other. It's all a golden age. Everyone is equal. Everything is good. Bad didn't exist. Evil didn't exist. Misguidance didn't exist. Everyone worked together. There was no strife. There's never been strife. Everything is blurred together, mixed together, fits together.

The only problem are those pesky modern day Shias, they are the bad party crashers. Just don't know how to have a good time.

Of course we don't love Abu sufyan,no. How can we love Abu sufyan,we consider him a ,Muslima he reverted in the end.

It is simple logic:

1st Premise: Abu Sufyan is considered, by all Sunnis, to have been a Sahabi.

2nd Premise: Sunnis love all the Sahabah indiscriminately.

CONCLUSION: Therefore, Sunnis love Abu Sufyan.

Abu sufyan during the early days of Islam was an arch enemy of Islam but then he converted to Islam and died as a momin and a Muslim. As for yazid‚ we don't hate him nor do love him.

As for firawn la he died as a kafir. His 'coversion' to Islam was nnot accepted bc his shahadah was not sincere and thus he died as a kafir

Allah (swt) Himself condemns Abu Sufyan (la) in the Qur'an in Surah al Ma'un - he was the biggest hypocrite and his descendants were even worse.

Can u please tell me which exact verse in surah Maun where Allah swt  according to u 'condemns' abu sufyan ra? Also please include the translation. Thanks.

Have you forgotten that Allah revealed this ayah (2:6) about him and his followers:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

As for those who are kafir, it makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not have iman.

So, how did Abu Sufyan have iman?

I doubt if the guy is a Sunni. His beliefs are way illogical. He doesn't even have enough knowledge about Sunni Islam to call himself a Sunni. Don't compare him to Sunnis. He's an insult to them.

this was the exact reason why I left sunni islam when I converted , because I just couldn't understand where their moral standing was , It was so illogical for me , but alhumdullillah I discovered the school of ahlulbayt and since then my life has been so much better , I love the ahlulbayt so much and wish to join lady Fatima in paradise inshallah

I had exactly the same situation. Just chaos until I came to know of the concept of Imamate and the importance of the Ahl al-Bayt a.s. and sudenly saw everything clearly and got peace of mind.

Alhamdulillah

Did the Prophets a.s., appointed kings or believers ever fought, persecuted and cursed eachother in the Quran or did one of the opposing  parties always consisted of unbelievers and hypocrites?

This argument of love/hate Abu Sufyan can go on. You can call him a Kafir or a Muslim. Do not forget that after Fateh many Meccans accepted Islam. Not all were sincere. Some were hypocrites (munafiq) who's purpose was to join the Prophet pbuh for material gains and their own safety. They never forgave the Prophet for subduing them and tried their best to hurt the Prophet pbuh like running away from the battle field, raiding the house of the Prophet's pbuh daughter. Seizing her possessions after her father left this world. Were these people who showered scorn on the Prophet's pbuh house hold Muslins? Or were they kafirs wearing the mask of Muslims? In other word Minafiqs.
