Is career in Investment Banking Halal or Haram?

Assalam Walekum,

I am currently working as a Software Engineer. I have been preparing for MBA Exam GMAT since a while ago. I want to pursue MBA in finance for pursuing career in investment banking for which I was highly motivated earlier reading and watching news about these big investment banks and prefoessional working ethics there and the money that we get as a salary + Bonus, and also seeing some Muslim people like Sherjane Hussaini being a very renowned personality as investment banker but recently I came across various articles which make me doubt whethe its halal or haram to pursue career in investment banking. So I want to know whether its permissible to work as an investment banker in Investment Banks like JP Morgan, Bear Stearns, Morgan Stanley, GoldMand Sachs, Barclays, Meryll Lynch etc.?. Also what other career options are there after pursuing MBA in Finance similar to the reputation of investment banking.
