1) What's your first name? What country are you from?

2) Why do you wear Hijab?

3) Do you wear it to be more modest?

1. My name is Amy and I'm from the UK

2. I wear hijab because Allah (swt) tells us in the Qur'an that both men and women should dress modestly. So when I do this, I am pleasing Allah. And there are many benefits to the hijab such safety, respect from men and God consciouness.

3. Yes it helps me to be modest inside and out.

1. My name is Fatima and I'm from the US.

2. I wear hijab because the Holy Qur'an makes hijab mandatory, and hadith describes hijab to modestly cover the entire body of a woman, with the exception of the face and hands up to the wrist. 

3. Yes, modesty is very much the reason I wear hijab, because non-Mahram men should not view a woman's body. When I wear hijab I feel very free, comfortable, and confident that I am not attracting lustful looks.

I think our choosing how to dress, can’t be nothing but one through the Islamic laws, since we are muslim and muslims should obey their scholars (Marja’) who say: preserving Hijab is obligated

- Not comfortable sharing my first name so I will use a pseudonym; Zahra.

What country are you from?

- The UK.

2) Why do you wear Hijab?

- I choose to wear Hijab because I believe it to be commanded by God; because I feel free from a idealised and narrow perception of beauty which exists within society today; because it acts as a 'behaviour check' for me, and reminds me to align my behaviour to my Islamic values and also because I like the idea of being identified as a Muslim when I'm out and about.

3) Do you wear it to be more modest?

- Yes.

Regarding the general topic of hijab, I'd recommend everyone to have a look at br. Qaim's article on the subject (where I found this beautiful quote) - it gives a deeper understanding of hijab, far beyond to what it has been reduced, today (e.g. only the physical aspect).

My name is Maria (fake name) and I'm from Mexico

2) Why do you wear Hijab?

Because I feel content and at peace wearing it. It reminds me of my creator and it also reminds me about carrying out good deeds and avoiding the bad, because the hijab is a command from God that is supposed to reflect purity, love and goodness.

3) Do you wear it to be more modest?

Yes, because modesty encompasses obeying God and avoiding indecency at any level. It is also beneficial for society despite their unawareness.

1) I have a greek name but for some reason all the Muslims call me Aisha, lol. I am from the USA.

2) Reason 1. Keeps people from bothering me. Seriously. You have no idea how same-sex harassment/courting/flirting has taken over the American work environment. But that's a topic for another day.

Reason 2. It is a form of dawah. 

3) Modest in dress?  I guess so. I would not wear something immodest and put on a headscarf. But don't forget a woman can be immodest in behavior (I curse a lot a work, make dua for me).

I wear hijab because it is obligatory upon Muslim women. And also because I am trying to uphold the principles that Sayyeda Zaynab(sa) and Sayyeda Zahra(sa) stood for because I believe modesty is a huge part of faith and we can see how wonderfully, that is portrayed in the life of Sayyeda Zaynab(sa) and Sayyeda Zahra(sa) & nowadays, society only focuses on the appearance of women, and people make judgements based on a woman's appearance instead of her character & personality, and I wanna make it clear(when I wear my hijab) that a woman should be known for who she is and not what she wears.

Personally, yes. But I don't believe that hijab is only about what you wear, but also about how you act.

2) I wear the hijab for Allah, and I wear it because I understand the meaning behind it and I accept what it represents and symbolizes. 

3) Yes, I wear the hijab for modesty. However keep in mind everyone interprets modestly differently. Some girls interpret modesty as covering head to toe, while others think its just covering private areas. I just happen to interpret modesty as wearing a hijab and long clothes. So yea every girl interprets it differently cuz god made us all unique I suppose anyways good luck with ur project hun take care (virtual hugs)
