Salamualkum brothers and sisters.

I was wondering if it is haram to go to a gym where haram music is being played and women are present according to ayahtollah khamenei. Here is his fetwa. If being there entails sinning like listening to lahwi and haraam music and singing or results into arousing one's sexual passion, it is impermissible.

Now does this mean listening as in the sound physically going into my ears or does it mean to consciously listen to it? If I go to the gym with headphones and don't look at any women, would it still be haram to go to the gym or any other places similar to this?

Salamualkum.

Make your intention clear about why you go to the gym... Like going to the gym not to listen to their music and not looking at women, but to workout. So basically straightfoward said: Make your intention clear as to why you go to the gym... Otherwise say hi to the Haraam Police :D

W/s,

I go to the gym and sometimes there are songs being played, which is why I either go at a time (early mornings) when the music isn't on, or bring my iPod and listen to anything else which isn't a song.

As for the women, the best thing you can do is just lower your gaze and focus solely on your training. When you get really tired your passions won't get aroused as easily.
