I don't understand a word...why is dv sending congrats to us?I wanted to congrat starlight and her team.What's happening?

i've removed my vote. sorry, but from what i saw (correct me if im wrong) is not one post about relating this to zuhur of imam mahdi, or service to the cause? seriously? please tell me i'm wrong and point me to the post i missed out on.

I guess Nader was relieved off his duties... he was a good mod though, I guess inactivity was the reason to him being demoted.

I like how you distance yourself from wanting to be a spiritual guide, which I see as the behaviour of a potentially good spiritual guide. Masha Allah. Keep it up and all the best. I didn't know anything about you before, but from skimming here, I can only see good things about you .. don't forget us mere members when you get famous ;)

Anyway, I like to think that people like you with very special skills can easily be important leaders in the online world - or the like - after zuhur in sha Allah

Yes this makes sense. I wasn't sure if it was final yet, as I didn't do my homework and read the timings. Sorry for that.

But i removed my vote mostly to make a statement. Moral support is more important than votes I believe. After all we want a long term team with low turnover and solid promotions based competencies. So i didn't want the person I voted for to think I was ok with the situation. This thread at least deserves the mention of the sahib el amr, as this site is dedicated to him as "shia" chat.

Anyway, sorry for blabbing away - I must be getting old :)

In case people are confused, this is not a joke and yes both Starlight and Magma have been selected as moderators.

Congratulations to the both of you. And thank you so much to other candidates who have also actively participated in the process. 

I must point out a few things though. A team member has raised a valid point that Repenter's sense of humour last night (giving magma an Admin badge) followed by today's announcement of selecting two mods may be viewed as an attempt by mods to get their favourite elected. I can assure everyone that no favourites were being discussed in the mod or admin forum after this poll had been created. And the team was not trying to 'sympathise' with magma either. The idea to select two mods was seriously considered on 10 Nov when I believe magma was leading or had a close tie? This was in consideration of the several suggestions I read about promoting all or both of the top two contestants. Many people were liking those suggestions too. And since a position became available, the team agreed that we can let members choose 2 mods instead of one. And I know it was a bit too late but I thought it is better to do it now than after the campaign. After what they've gone through and the kind of effort they have made, both are winners in my view. However Magma will have to live with the regret of undermining and losing to Starlight and getting noticeably upset last night lol

Any ways, lets get back to the celebrations and appreciation for the hard work by both Starlight and Magma. I demand a speech from both of them. I wonder how many of the promises will they actually keep

I'll promote them soon. Oh and last but not least a big thanks to all members for making this possible. Let's do it again some time.

I don't know who you are and there's no way for me to find out so I'm using thread to thank you, for placing your trust in me, for supporting me and for going down with the sinking ship. Especially to Tonks, Chaotic Muslim and Noor, who used words to describe me that I would never use for myself and for having a higher opinion of me than I have for myself.

To those who voted for me but shifted allegiance midway, I say only this: the only punishment worthy of e-apostasy is e-death! I will do everything in my power, work tirelessly day and night and use all the money I saved because you people refused to take bribes from me to make sure that your ISP finds you guilty of downloading illegal movies and games and cuts your cords. I will not rest till that day comes for I, your Mod, am a jealous Mod!

To all the participants of this thread, I would also like to say thank you. This is, frankly, the most fun I've had on ShiaChat in a very, very long time. While many of us have raised our concerns about this forum dying, this thread serves as proof to the contrary, with over 17,000 views in a mere week. Though we have debated how to rejuvenate this forum, I believe that the best answer lay in front of us, in the guise of this very thread, which demonstrated the members' will to speak up for what they believe in, their determination and their daring in their friendships and for the controversy, too, for what's life without a little spice?

Yes and no. As I've explained many times on this thread, I'm Pakistani by birth but have lived in Africa long enough to now be a resident, legally. Currently, though, I study in Malaysia.
