Its gonna be for free and it looks pretty good. It seems every second Windows is good. XP, amazing. Vista, bad. Windows 7, amazing. Windows 8, bad. Windows 10, hopefully amazing.

Whose gonna get it????

Windows is going to gain much terrain in the technology scene. Windows 10 will hopefully overcome the terrible design errors of Windows 8. I liked Metro style introduced in W8 but the design and structure of W8, as well as its general incompatibility problems just made it a bad OS choice. I have honestly only used W8 when it has been completely necessary for work purposes.

W10 new technology and design looks good so far. I like the integration of the Metro style with the familiar common windows design (with the awesome Start menu lol). It's inbuilt connection with smartphones is very promising for games and apps.

I'm expecting much from Windows for the incoming years. I would even say they are innovating even more than Apple and in a better way. Looking forward to releases :D.

Users with high end pc's, those who want a navigational change in accessing their files & who are more keen to see the graphics improvement with the introduction of direct X 12.

The goal of Windows 10 is to unify the Windows PC, Windows Phone, Windows Embedded and Xbox Oneproduct families, around a common internal core. A new default web browser, Microsoft Edge, will also make its debut in Windows 10, though Internet Explorer will still be available in a reduced capacity for compatibility reasons.

However, during the first year of availability, upgrade licenses for Windows 10 will be available at no charge for eligible retail editions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. So its going be free only for one year & only for those users who have previously purchased the retail editions of windows 7 & 8.

I'm sticking with my Windows 7 until the time is right to upgrade to a DirectX 12 GPU. Then, I might need Windows 10 if it remains exclusive to it like DX10.1 is exclusive to Vista and 7.

I am on the preview version, it is pretty good, a lot better than the mess that was Windows 8.  Everyone who can upgrade definitely should.  Apple needs to update their OS too, it needs a complete redesign.

I have delayed replacing my teetering on the brink laptop to buy one that comes with genuine Windows 10 so as to avoid resorting to pirated stuff.

Forget it...I only want to know if Windows 10 is out, officially and properly?

Remember you're talking to someone who doesn't know much about these things, except that Windows 8 turned out to be as good as a cartload of equine excrement the month or so I had had the misfortune of using it.

I'm using Windows 7.

Stay with Windows 7, I think windows 10 should be out in a couple of months, it is still in preview mode.

Hmm, as long as the requirements for publications are still present, I see it better, as you reach more people. Problem is if those barriers are almost nothing, as it would happen like android, in which everything goes and a lot of money has to be out on marketing to get your apps visible. I hope this is not going to be the case in the console world, starting with xbox.

Thanks, that is why i asked. So basically what MS is doing is trying to make a uniform platform, or framework if you will, which console gamers and pc gamers can play on and switch on demand, and/or play together.

That is going to suck for players that are on console vs players on pc, specially within the FPS world. Generally speaking, an average FPS player on PC would dominate a really good console player.

For PC Gamers, what do you guys think of Microsoft trying to unify PC and Xbox One?

It will only go so far, as consoles are the real cash cow for developers, PC gaming generates no money.

That is precisely my biggest concern to be honest King. Console world is what is letting us build an industry with professional companies. There are tons of average amateur groups that are not even a company and due to the big amount of produced games, professional commercial games are having a very hard time to get into the markets with good visibility (thus, requiring nearly 60% of inversion of money just for marketing and advertising, if not more). This is how the dreadful mobile gaming market has turned. Lucky is the one who gets stable income from it...

I'm done with windows PCs. W8's irritating compatibility issues were driving me insane. I was an early adopter and it took me quite a while to finally come to the realization that my PC, which had come with W8 built in, wasn't compatible with its default OS! What a load of Benzoyl Peroxide!

I switched over to a Macbook Pro. These are more reliable and last for much longer.

Macbooks are strongly built machines, but Apple dropped the ball with Yosemite, Windows 10 will overall be far more feature rich and superior unless Apple releases a significant OS update.  In fact there are reports that Windows 10 preview runs more efficiently on a mac than mac os itself.

Apple did unveil their next os today, it has minor upgrades consisting on features already present in Chrome and Windows for years.

Windows 10 is probably going to be a disappointment, as usual. What may become interesting is a unified API (DirectX12?). Hopefully it can be replicated by linux gurus. Then windows can die, and then we can have a linux for gamings and ALL our computer problems will disappear because of that. :D Far-fetched optimistic thinking though. -_-
