(salam)

I'm looking for more information on Shab-e Baraat: the 15th of Shaban; namely hadiths, lectures, and the works of classical Shi'a scholars regarding this topic. Many thanks.

Salam,

This is just a copy&paste of a few brief points I received in an email yesterday. I'm sure you could find more information with a Google search.

13th, 14th, 15th Shabaan 1436 AH - Ayyam-e-Bayz (the bright days)

As Salam o alaikum,

13th, 14th and 15th of Rajab, Shabaan and Ramzan are known as "Ayyam-e-Bayz" - (the days of surpassing splendour)

Imam Jafar Sadiq(as) has said, “Who ever prays during the nights of Ayyam-e-Bayz in fact stands at the door of super abundant favours, bounties and benefits available in these months and other than shirk, all his/her sins will be forgiven.”

Special Aamal
(1) It is highly desirable to fast on 13th, 14th and 15th and have a bath every day and give alms in the way of Allah(swt).

(2) In the nights of "Ayyam-e-Bayz" pray 12 Rakat namaz as under:
- In the night of 13th, pray 2 Rakat: In each rakat recite Sura-e-Fatiha, Sura-e-Yaseen, Sura-e-Mulk and Sura-e-Tauheed.
- In the night of 14th, pray 4 Rakat in 2 sets of 2 rakat each exactly as above.
- In the night of 15th, pray 6 Rakat in 3 sets of 2 rakat each exactly as above.
(3) In the night of 15th, recite Ziarat of Imam Hussain(as).

Pray the following 12 Rakat Namaz in 6 sets of 2 rakat each:
- in every Rakat recite
Sura Fatiha - 4 times
Sura Ikhlas - 4 times
Sura al-Falaq - 4 times
Sura al-Kafiroon - 4 times
Sura an-Naas - 4 times
sura al-Qadr - 4 times
Ayatul Kursi - 4 times
Tasbeehat-e-Arbaa - 4 times (Subhan Allahe, wal hamdo lillahe, wa la ilaha il allahu, walla hu Akbar)

After each salam recite 4 times:
ALLAHU ALLAHU
RABBEE LAA USHRIKU BIHEE SHAY-AN
WA LAA ATTAKHIDU MIN DOONIHEE WALIYYAA
WA MAA SHH-ALLAAHU LAA QUWWATA ILLA
BILLAHIL ALIYIL AZEEM

(4) In addition to the above, aamal of Umm-e-Dawood are also performed on the 15th day of Rajab. Infact, they can be performed on the 15th of any Islamic month.

The full details of Aamal Umm-e-Dawood are available in the book "Mafateehul Jinnan" which can be found in the Online Books Library

Assalamu'Aleikum Wb.

Amal and information about Night of Baraat:

http://www.duas.org/15shabanamal.htm

"Therefore, stay awake this night in prayer and worship and encourage your Ummah to also keep awake this night in order to get closer to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) through their actions since this is a noble night. This is a night in which not a single person supplicates to Allah except that his prayers are accepted. Nobody asks for a single thing on this night except that it will be given to him. No one asks Allah for forgiveness except that his sins are wiped out. No one turns in repentance to Allah except that He accepts their repentance. Whoever is deprived of the goodness of this night has definitely been deprived of something great." - Ahadith in Book Iqbalul A‘mal

Insha'Allah we all take advantage of this blessed night.

To get the better understanding( what we are asking to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)), all Duas should recite to our mother language.

yes, the prayers must always be in Arabic and the recitation of the holy Quran should be in Arabic, but with reading in classes in English

However, we can have some nights to set aside for doing the supplications in Arabic, but this obligation should be done in the local language while preserving the original. This is something the clergy dropped the ball on in America.

People have no understanding of the supplications and so many youth don’t give importance to them

Also, even among the non-Arabic speakers or the lower level of Arabic speakers, you are such a beautiful duaa Kumayl the last 45 to 50 or even an hour and 10 minutes with no understanding

New strategies must be utilized to keep the faith going in the west
