Why Do Muslims Circulate Al-Kaaba 7 Times?

/ means divide by
 
Any number N is multiplication of prime numbers in one way only.
Example:
 
12 = 3 * 4             but 4 can still be divided further
12 = 3 * 2 * 2         and as we cannot divide the 2 or 3 any further,
                       therefore 12 is made from one 3 and two 2s.
                       these are its prime factors or divisors, or its genes.
ALSO
 
12 = 2 * 6             but 6 can still be divided further
12 = 2 * 2 * 3         and as we cannot divide the 2 or 3 any further,
                       therefore 12 is made from two 2s and one 3.
                       these are its prime factors or divisors, or its genes.
 
Since order in multiplication is not important, therefore:
12 = 2 * 2 * 3         and no other prime number is needed at all.
 
Think of a prime number an number that cannot be divided any further:
The first few primes are: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, ...
 
Numbers that can be divided further are called composites (composed from multiplying prime numbers):
The first few composite are: 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, ...
 
Imam Ali (as), the Commander of the faithfuls
was asked: "What number can be divided by all numbers from 1 to 10?"
 
He (as) immediately replied:
"Take the number of days in a week and multiply it 
by the number of days in a month and then multiply it 
by the number of months in a year, and you will get your answer."
 
N = days per week   *  days per month   *   months per year
N =      7          *        30         *         12
N =      7          *       360 degrees?
N =      7             complete circles?
 
Could this be a hint for why God Al-knowing wants us to circulate Al-Kaa'ba 7 times or 7 * 360 degrees to complete a perfect divisibility by all numbers from 1 to 10?
 
 
Here is how N can be divided by all numbers from 1 to 10:
 
N =      7          *        30          *       12
N =      7          *     2 * 3 * 5      *    2 * 2 * 3
 
Re-arranging all N prime factors (three 2s, two 3s, one 5, and one 7):
 
N = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 3 * 5 * 7
 
N is divisible by
1  because every number is divisible by 1
2  because part of its prime factors is 2
3  because part of its prime factors is 3
4  because part of its prime factors is 2 * 2
5  because part of its prime factors is 5
6  because part of its prime factors is 2 * 3
7  because part of its prime factors is 7
8  because part of its prime factors is 2 * 2 * 2
9  because part of its prime factors is 2 * 2
10 because part of its prime factors is 2 * 5

Never thought of it. And as we also discussed once in the chatroom, regarding the use of the 360 degrees system (in surat arRahman), your explanation make sense to me at least and could be related to the reason behind the seven cycles.

The Babylonians observed the heaves and found that it returns to its original position every 360 days, so they divided the the circle into 360 degrees. 1 degree per day.

 

For some reason, the Earth has

either

slowed down its revolution around the Sun to 365.25.. days

or

sped up its spin to make it 365.25.. spins in the same time to revolve around the Sun.

A: We delve back to arrive at a probable answer. A line of ancient peoples (Sumerians, Akkadians, and Babylonians) who lived in Mesopotamia (now southern Iraq) invented writing, observed the skies, and invented a 360-degree circle to describe their findings. About 3000 BC, the Sumerians invented writing. They also had a calendar, dating from 2400 BC, that divided the year into 12 months of 30 days each, that is, 360 days.

The Sumerians watched the Sun, Moon, and the five visible planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn), primarily for omens. They did not try to understand the motions physically. They did, however, notice the circular track of the Sun's annual path across the sky and knew that it took about 360 days to complete one year's circuit. Consequently, they divided the circular path into 360 degrees to track each day's passage of the Sun's whole journey. This probably happened about 2400 BC.

That's how we got a 360-degree circle. Around 1500 BC, Egyptians divided the day into 24 hours, though the hours varied with the seasons originally. Greek astronomers made the hours equal. About 300 to 100 BC, the Babylonians subdivided the hour into base-60 fractions: 60 minutes in an hour and 60 seconds in a minute. The base 60 of their number system lives on in our time and angle divisions.

Was this post responded at my questions? Again, can I have the source for the hadith, and can you prove to me which calender (most likely Islamic) the Imam was supposedly speaking about?

Salam! interesting indeed. However I am not quite sure if I understood you correctly, where you get 360 from?

7*30*12 = 2520.

Also not all months have 30days.

 

Quran 41:12

So He formed the heaven into seven heavens in two Days, assigning to each its mandate. And We adorned the lowest heaven with ˹stars like˺ lamps ˹for beauty˺ and for protection. That is the design of the Almighty, All-Knowing.”

 

I heard that the circulation of al kaaba 7 times has to do with the 7 heavens from the Quran. In which we after each circulation arise ourselves spritually to a higher "dimension" up to 7 levels.

From Ali (asws) Bin Al-Husayn (asws), said, ‘I said, ‘Why did the Tawaaf [circumambulation] (of the Kabah) come to be of seven circuits?’ He (asws) said: ‘Because Allah (azwj) Blessed and Exalted Said to the Angels: I am going to Make a Caliph in the earth , so they responded upon Allah (azwj) the Exalted and said Are You going to Make in it one who will make mischief therein and shed the blood, and we Glorify with Your Praise and we extol Your Holiness? He said: I Know what you do not know [2:30].

And it was so that they were veiled from His (azwj) Light for seven thousand years. So they sought refuge with the Throne for seven thousand years, and He (azwj) Showed Mercy upon them and Turned to them, and Made the Oft-frequented House (Bayt Al- Mamour) for them, which is in the fourth sky, and Made it as a model and Placed the Sacred House (Kabah) beneath the Oft-Frequented House (Bayt Al Mamour), and Made it as a model for the people and a Sanctuary. Thus, the Tawaaf came to be of seven circuits, Obligatory upon the servants, for every thousand years (of the Angels), one circuit’’.

The 7 heavens design comes from the need for divisibility by all numbers from 1 to 10 in our base-10 Universe.

I believe  that other Universes may have different bases.

In general, from my study into the Mathematical Structure of the Quran, I believe that all universes start the same way initially based on number properties with a big bang of light (الفلق) where prime numbered rays of light helicate (spiral with constant diameter like a spring) anticlockwise, whereas all composite numbered rays spiral clockwise. Related number patterns force rays of such numbers to interlock to create matter or antimatter. Free light rays continue drilling outwards creating/expanding space itself (والسماء بنيناها بأييد وإنا لموسعون)

Then at a later stage, each Universe will have its own Quran that contains the complete construction manual for that unique Universe. Ours is base-10 and constructed arround 114 and 506.
