A Common Call For The Savior

In the Name of God

A COMMON CALL FOR THE SAVIOUR

Once I was reading a Christian theological book, written by one of the evangelists, surprisingly, I found the last chapter, dedicated to the doctrine of the future, to be very interesting. To me as a Shi’ite Muslim, whose way of thinking of Christianity was a religion subject to distortion throughout the history, it was really amazing to come up with great similarity between Shi’ite and Christianity as for the idea of the eschatology. Reading the genuine materials written by scholars whose concern is to speak of the eschatology, one is justified to say that they are resemblance in all aspects; principles, details, and the way that their scholars both Shi’ite and Christian, argue to articulate the various topics pertain to the study of “the last things”. However, what both Shi’ite and Christian followers desire to happen does not meet the way of their life, their daily behaviors, and their understanding of reappearance of their redeemer.

Clearly, Shi’ite and Christian scholars alike have not pondered the similarities fall in various parts of the doctrine of future in accordance with their sacred scriptures. In both religions we see explicit declarations conveying large-scale understanding of the conditions world will experience before the coming of the promised man of God. For instance;

The world would be full of injustice, tyranny and lies in wickedness.

Christianity: “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. 1 John 5:19

Islam: He will fill out the earth with peace and justice as it will have been full of injustice and tyranny.[1]

Surly, the coming of Him will happen.

Christianity : He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20

Islam: The Prophet Muhammad said, Even if the entire duration of the world’s existence has already been exhausted and only one day is left before Doomsday, Allah will expand that day to such length of time as to accommodate the kingdom of a person from my Ahlul-Bayt who will be called by my name.[2]

Similar signs in Heavens precede His coming.

Christianity :The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven Matthew 24:29

Islam: Verily, the sun eclipses in the middle of Ramadan and the moon darken at the end of it before the advent of Mahdi.[3]

In addition to above mentioned points, one might add the issue of predicting specified time for  his coming that has to be considered wrong with regard to the teachings of both religions[4],[5].

Apart from all these similarities found in religious texts, the common trait both Shi’ite and Christian preachers seem to share is to promote their followers to long eagerly for his return or coming. The reason behind such encouragements is to keep the followers motivated in obedience to him up until the very moment of his coming. Moreover, the more believers are engaged in servitude of God, the less they will be caught up in enjoying sinful desires and actions and consequently they are more likely to experience the intimate and deep fellowship with God.

As a matter of fact the reappearance of Imam Mahdi or Prophet Jesus requires some preliminaries in which to pave the ground for them to reign on the earth[6] which are yet not fulfilled. If they are to come and bring the righteousness and justice and establish the kingdom of God on earth, there have to be such loyal followers ready to undertake difficulties required for uprising against unbelievers. Pious believers who are fed up with this world, the ones who experienced vital need for coming of the man of God have to exist to stand firm with Imam Mahdi and Prophet Jesus to overcome all unrighteous and evil governments. So that, the more believers look for providing such preliminaries the more his reappearance will be hastened. One of the crucial requirements for the advent of Imam Mahdi or the return of Christ to occur is to experience a real need for a savior, a real need for deliverance from lust, redemption from captivity and spiritual bondage. As long as human beings are entangled in sins, lies, and lust and they are neglected of this relentless hidden ignorance that drives them live without any feeling of deficiency Imam Mahdi will never come. Back to what we have already cited from religious corpus, we see that the world before their coming is experiencing the utmost level of injustice, immorality, sins etc. Hence, only when people reach this awareness that their urgent need which precede every other material stuffs is the need for redemption we could hope the savior, whether Imam Mahdi, Prophet Jesus or they both together, to come and redeem the world.

To practice an eager longing for the savior, believers, besides taking care of their daily deeds to keep them in deep fellowship whit the savior, have to pray for his coming since this seemingly simple behavior demonstrates the degree to which they long for him. It is narrated through the Islamic traditions that the people of ancient Egypt –Bani Israel- were promised of a savior that would put an end to wretchedness and misery they suffer from under the government of Pharaoh. They decided to pray to God and cry for 40 mornings. All of the believers in the community attended this spiritual gathering. After the 40th morning God inspired them that, “the time you were supposed to long for your savior has been hastened 170 years, and Moses is coming.” Imam Sadeq, peace be upon him, has quoted this story warning the Shia believers that such appeals to God, since it is a real measure of our vital need, might hasten the coming of Imam Mahdi.[7]

Actually the concept as for return of the man of god in almost all aspects is similar but Christian do not believe he is imam mahdi, they say he is Jesus.

you are right but they also believe in arrival of their Master as we believe in Return of our Master a.t.f

yes , but the same thing we both are required to gain is to feel a crucial need for the return of the savior to redeem us from this sinful life. going through such situation will keep us motivated and engaged in the obedience of God and pave the ground for his coming. otherwise we are only claiming that we long eagerly for his coming and this never change our mistreats in daily life.

Please be ready for Rajab (if not this year in few days time, then all other Rajabs in your life and pass the message to you children too).

In a Rajab the Sun would darken (and/or stops) from noon to afternoon prayer and people will be looking upwards in awe.

A face of a known person would show up (somehow) and his hand would be extended out of the Sun.

26:4 If We wish We will send down to them a sign from the sky before which their heads will remain bowed in humility.

وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ ءَايَةًۭ يُعْرِضُوا۟ وَيَقُولُوا۟ سِحْرٌۭ مُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ
54:2 If they see a sign, they turn away, and say, ‘An incessant magic!’

Then in Ramadhaan, a solar eclipse take places in the middle of the month which is impossible normally as the Moon is behind the Earth not between the Earth and the Sun, so some suggest that perhaps another object would come in between (Allah A3lem) and then later a lunar eclipse take place near the end of the month (25th some hadiths say) which is impossible normally as the Moon is not behind the Earth so the Earth could block the Sun light to it which can only happen in the middle of the month, so once again that same strange stray object could come between the Sun and the Moon (not our Earth).

BUT above all, two CALLS IN THE SKY will be heard on the 23rd of Ramadhaan, the first at Dawn by Gibrael (as):

"The Truth is with Ali and his followers"

while the second later in the day by the satan (LA) saying

"The truth with Uthman bin 3enza and his followers"

So those in whom heart is doubt, would follow the wrong call.

When you hear this call, prostrate to Allah and say "Subhaan Rabbina al-Qaddoos"

وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍۢ قَرِيبٍۢ
50:41 And be on the alert for the day when the caller calls from a close quarter,

٥٠_٤٢ يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ

50:42 the day when they hear the Cry in all truth. That is the day of rising [from the dead].

Please see the other thread of Face on the Sun already can be seen by SOHO Telescope of NASA last month(s).

Salamun alaykum,

The problem is that many many Christians even don't know there are such things in their sources. When I ask some of my Christian colleagues if they believe Jesus PBUH will return, they say NO!

Also in the Bible (Deutronomy), it has been clearly mentioned that eating pork is prohibited but they enjoy eating pork! Many Christians believe in science much much more than their religion or religions in general. So I think we have to request Allah swt to hasten our beloved Imam's return for the peopleof this planet to know what is right, what is wrong, what is good, what is bad, what is Islam, what is Imam, what is Christianity, and so on.

Above all, they will realize that in what an ignorant situation have they been living.

I request almighty God swt, to hasten the appearance of Imam Mahdi atfs.

There are definitely similarities here, which have been mentioned.  As a Christian (Seventh-Day Adventist), our last day beliefs are very much rooted in the 3 angels' messages in Revelation.

Revelation 14:6-12King James Version (KJV)

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

In this we find the messages for these last days. That the gospel must be taken to all, that we must fear God and worship Him and that we must not receive the mark of the beast in our forehead or hand. That test of our faith is coming. We are to keep God's commandments and the faith of Jesus.

No, there are branches of Christianity that follow the dietary laws of the Bible and therefore do not eat pork, shrimp, and other unclean foods. Some also believe alcohol is forbidden as well. Same with tobacco or any other drug.

If anyone says that, they have not gone to Church or cracked a Bible and they are a nominal "Christian " at best. All Christian groups I know of believe in the return of Christ.  Please...would you call someone who didn't believe in the return of your Imam a Shia Muslim?

As far as the dietary restrictions, some small groups do follow them, but the Jewish dietary laws were superceded in the Book of Acts.

Acts 10:9-16

9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.
10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance
11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.
12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds.
13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”
16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back into heaven.
