Fascinating stuff. Wonder how much of it is true. Could the British intelligence have pushed him on to this course? Like all other high profile extremists MI5, 6, 7 - whatever - wanted Jihadi John to work "for us".

It doesn't say what he had done originally, to have gone on the agencies' radar? And secondly, when he was barred from leaving Britain multiple times, how then, of a sudden, he managed to flee the country, without anyone knowing, and how it were intelligence guys who broke the news to his family of his eventual travel to Syria?

There's a great deal about the whole ISIS story that makes no sense at all.

These people are held up to be the masters of PR. Imagine having the planning and foresight to ship orange jumpsuits into the chaos of Libya, so as to make the right photo-opp for the killing of Christians.

Or that cage for the Jordanian pilot. But clearly there was never any indigenous Iraqi expertise in that area, going by the efforts of Chemical/Comical Ali. Then it is argued that such skills have been brought to ISIS by foreign Muslim jihadis - but if there is one thing that marks out Muslims in the west it is our lack of presence in the media and communications industries.

What is noteworthy is that if someone wanted to terrify non-Muslims about the Muslim threat, they've got a lot of bang for their buck from people like Jihadi John. His killings, personally, amount to no more than double figures, but he consistently makes the front pages.

Whoever is organising this, understands Western psyche/culture from the inside, knows what is likely to pull the heart strings most effectively and how to get media attention.

One thing striking me , why all 247 nation out of 249 intelligence is not able to catch anything related to ISIS, but only USA/UK intelligence. All the 247 nation are useless intelligence ? And no body is raising this issue .. what are the sources USA/UK have there which knows every activity and rest world is not aware of it ? Or bcoz ISIS are there own people so they are aware what step is going to take now.

Every news is getting leaked or published by USA & UK intelligence.

Back to post #1: "...pushed him..."

Plausible.  That still does not excuse his murdering people --if he is the "j...john".

Muhammad alCayn, frmrly Emwazi, remains responsible for his actions.

The "suspicion generated by otherwise pointless inquiries" is a standard harassment technique.

The self-righteous Stasi-styled arm-twisting by gov't is not uncommon. He refused to be an informant. So he ran up against the Mid-evil "the King shall not be denied" cwappola.

[Thoughtful point: What was Putin's observation about a cornered rat?]

I read many angles into this story, but the most fraudulent-appearing is the Tanzania aspects.

Emwazi was likely fingered for personal harassment by any of the 6,000 evilgelical missionaries in Kenya --any of whom could have seen his traveling. (Very common stuff in the USA)

Then when in Tanzania he is accused of trying to join al-Shabbab. Now if that was somehow true it is not very believable. The shortest route to Somalia is along the 333miles of Kenyan coast, and trying to get through the Tanzanian ground and coastal patrols; then the Kenyan ground and coast patrols; remain un-observed by Global Hawk and other drones; escape notice by NATO littoral patrols (not there for only anti-piracy operations in 2009); in a motorized boat with a large enough fuel capacity --the fuel having to be acquired somewhere. And not crash into any rocks.

Particular then as now, the way to get into Somalia is through Yemen. A widely known factoid back then. It is a short, regular service trip from Yemen.

If Emwazi did get to Somalia, he would be immediately under local suspicion for ethnic reasons. Then he would need to get past the violent tribalism prevalent there.

The entire "Tanzanian Aspect" is very problematic. I can't find any believable thing in the gov't's propaganda.

Never-the-less, if al-Cayn/Emwazi is guilty of these torturous murders, he should be nailed-up. (Corruption in the Land, Quran)

I'm sorry, but every time I hear the name "Jihadi John" I can't help but laugh. Just the way it rolls off the tongue I guess.

Me too LOL. Time to go make some Meme of Jihadi John! 72 virgin goats awaits him!

Speaking of 72 virgin goats. When I use to be a former Sunni (I converted to Sunni and then to Shia). The Sunni Sheikh tried implementing 72 virgins into us after we die.

When I saw the title of your post, I wanted to type all what you already said in your post. Just to add one more key word: 'assets'

They hire directly or 'provoke' them (Sunni youths) indirectly and these types of people are big assets in the pockets of these western services, Gulf states, mainly Saudi Arabia, and nowadays Turkey. They all have their own reasons for making such personalities and organizing such groups.

For west to bash Islam, destroy the image of Islam and to spread their influence in the Muslim world by organizing and then "fighting" them. And for the puppet Arab kingdoms and Sheikhdoms to keep their family seats and prevent a takeover of their region/states by Sunni groups who are popular in the Arab world like the Takfiri Salafi or Ikhwani groups. For Turkey or Qatar to spread influence and try to take charge in Arab countries.

That is why the interest of Turkey/Qatar comes in conflict with Saudi and other Gulf states, one who wants to see the raise & fall of these groups in order to be save, and the other one who wants them to spread to build up their influence.. while for the west + Israel both cases are beneficial and works for them.

In a tactical technique for those who get corralled into impressed-spying-service, take some time and figure out a simple, single-action, doings that ruins it.

Examples: phoning a similar number and say "strange" things; rig your car to have a flat-at-will; wear something that alerts the innocent to your coerced activities;

---in other words, call it My-Operation: Inspector Clouseau .

"In Like Flint" would be a partial training film.

I figure the media picked "john" because that is a prostitutes' slang for a customer. Media is racist, too.

This is called alliteration, and it has been used in English literature for centuries.

You get the point.
