Advanced Member Rasul Posted January 30, 2015 Advanced Member Report Posted January 30, 2015 Salam.According to the Prophetic teachings as taught by the Ahlulbayt (a.s), the Imam who leads Salaah must fulfil specific criteria. However, this is in direct contrast to the frankly bizarre criteria of the so-called 'Ahl ul Sunnah' Hanafi school.Read here: http://www.revisitingthesalaf.org/2015/01/does-size-really-matter.html Muslim2010 1 Quote

Abu_Rumaysah Posted February 5, 2015 Report Posted February 5, 2015 I heard that the bizarre part was engineered to legitimize the first Caliph? Don't forget who was the 4-th one. And he was also elected. Back to topic, well in fact that some kind of good example why people need to abandon blind taqlid. Yet, I need to mention that these criterias were not official stand point of entire school. Imam Quduri (rahimahullah) said: The most worthy of people of imamate is the most knowledgeable of the sunnah; if they are equal [in that] then the best reciter of the Qur’an; then if they are equal [in that] then the most precautious of them; then if they are equal [in that] then the eldes. As for criterias gathered by RTS, obviously they are coming from the weird ideas of people in that time. Like smallest ud, mean man has less lust than any others. And he can be more concentrated on prayer. Or he will be less attractive to any weak woman. If someone has beautiful wife, he will not pay attention to any women in mosque and etc. I AM NOT telling that these criterias sound, they just comes from people and not from shariah. Quote
Advanced Member Zaydif74 Posted February 5, 2015 Advanced Member Report Posted February 5, 2015 The first one was not elected, he was selected. It was a political agreement between the powerful men who united and threw their political weight behind an individual and then threatened everyone else to accept or face consequences. the selection was politics not religion. The fourth one was truly elected because he was elected by the citizens of the city who were sick and tried of civil wars and murders and killings and instability and came out in frustration and begged him to take charge and set the affairs straight. Now as far as the topic above, I am speechless, what can I say your wife and your size is the criteria to make you the lead in prayers? While Quran says your Taqwa should be the criteria for your leadership. Quote
Advanced Member goldenhawk Posted February 11, 2015 Advanced Member Report Posted February 11, 2015 Also how do we choose who has the most beautiful wife? Are the wives paraded like models and we have a panel of judges and then we decide ? This fatwa is a absolute joke. Quote
